The best way I can describe my dining experience here is baffling. A truly baffling, disappointing and weird experience. Calling ahead for a booking was met with a response that a reservation was not necessary... This is the kind of response that usually annoys me, and if I was the decision maker, I would not go.
Upon arrival, there was a huge queue, and it took around 1 hour to get a table. When it was our turn to get seated, we were greeted by the host, that told us that "most of the items on the menu were missing"... that's where it started getting very weird. He told us that it's sunday, it was busy and they have run out of stuff. He said it's a common issue (mismanagement??) We were extremely hungry at that point and we had no alternative at that point to dine elsewhere as it was getting late.
The waiter came by to take our order and it was a fun experience trying to guess an item that they actually have available. We were even told that they have run out of bread to serve along-side their cheese platter starter. Long story short, no one got the food that they wanted, and we had to settle for alternate options from what they had available. Whilst i cannot complain about the taste of my chosen dish, i can complain about the quantity, as it was rather small. My partner's food looked very bland, and relatively tasteless. We tried desserts too, successfully I must say as they had the items that we wanted... the apple strudel was very tasty, but the cheesecake felt very dry and I did not enjoy it at all.
Definately not a place I would reccommend... did not enjoy the experience at all. A big thank you goes to our English speaking waitress that tried her very best to hide the embarassment and try to suggest options for us. Thank you for your patience.
NB - If they had told us immediately upon entering the restaurant that they had run out of food, we would have been given the opportuinity to make a decision and leave, rather than endure this experience.
NB 2 - during the waiting time, if they had asked us the party size, (2) we would have been accomodated earlier for sure, as there were plenty of empty tables. When we got seated, we were given a table that could accomodate 6 people... no complaints there as we were very comfortable, but such table could ahve been better used by the 6 people party that was waiting...
Read moreVery odd experience.
There's often a huge queue outside, but plenty of seating inside, but the wait time is manageable, so it's not the end of the world.
However, our experience inside was very underwhelming. We got seated and waited 15 minutes, until we attempted to reach out to one of the staff. One of the staff stopped, listened, but the left mid-sentence (???), because he needed to go clear a table (and there was plenty of available seating, so why the rush?). Very strange. We got a hold of another one of the staff, and managed to raise that we haven't got the chance to order. She said to sit tight and wait. Fine. Another 10 minutes passed and we got to order.
The we get the food. But no utensils. And drinks for 1 of 3 at the table. We waited (at this point we started monitoring the time rather precisely 😅). It took almost 10 minutes minutes to get fork and knives (after two interactions with the staff).
But, we are still waiting for drinks for the remaining two people at the table. At this point the food started getting cold, so we agreed "not worth it" and asked for the check. As it was clear that we hadn't eaten the food, the waiter waiter asked what was wrong, so we explained our experience.
As an apology, we got the drinks for free, however, we still haven't received the 2 of the 3 drinks we ordered! 😭
At this point we had been in the restaurant for 45 minutes. And we just wanted to leave. So we paid for the food, left the free drinks at the table (which finally arrived as we got up!), and got out.
Paid just above 100 pln and got half a beer for it. The food was honestly not good, but I suppose the experience, and the fact that the food was cold, didn't contribute positively to the food experience either 😅
There are an overflow of wonderful places to get a taste polish cuisine in Kraków center, so skip this one and find a different establishment, to...
Read moreBIG DECEPTION, don’t go there if you want to get a enjoyable time. The worst experience we have had in all our trips to Poland (we love Poland and its people…). We were very badly received despite a reservation made, exorbitant waiting times to order & receive the food, and very disappointing food. Some dishes should be removed, especially the chicken breast which had no taste, very dry and the accompaniment was really bad. It is the first time in my life that I let my dish go away half eaten. There was a good atmosphere but even the musicians were not smiling or welcoming. We were definitly disturbing... And the worst goes to the INCOMPETENT WAITERS, who had not reserved any table for us although we had booked on their website, so do not bother to book it is useless, we were placed in the 2nd room where there was no one and no music, supposedly the waitress told us that no table was free on the terrace or in the main room. Worse, is that, I saw that a table had been reserved for other people, so we were only counting for butter? Another waitress told us that if we saw a free table, we could take it, when I went to the terrace, 3 empty tables and supposedly it was full.. When we sat down by ourselves, we were spoken to like dirty people and finally got the menus after 20 minutes. Needless to say, other people who arrived well after us got a table on the terrace directly without problem and ordered before us. Surprising ? When we wanted to order, we had to ask three times for a waiter assigned to our table, we were told 'I'll try'. What kind of response is that? 'Yes of course, I'll call the waiter in charge right away'. To be honest, it was the same disaster on the next table for a bottle of water. The first and I hope the last time that we face such great incompetence and contempt from...
