Restauracja Tawerna Miejska — Restaurant in Krakow

It is not often that I write about a bad experience with food but I rarely have experiences like I had here. First of all we were ushered and pressured down the alley way in which the restaurant was situated. This should have been our first red flag but we were hangry. We asked to look at the menu and the waitress told us to sit down while we did it and she was not impressed when we stayed stood while we decided. We were literally the only customers in the restaurant and it still took her ten minutes to come take our order. She persistently tried to upsell some lemonade to us. She then brought out what can only be described as a monstrosity, what she described as a Ukrainian dish, in a two minute long speech about the dish that was clearly scripted. (We heard her repeat the exact script four more times during our dinner). The carbonara was fine, mediocre at best. I ordered the pork schnitzel which genuinely was the single worst thing I have ever ingested. The breadcrumbs were clearly made from stale bread and the pork tasted closer to fish than it did to pork. It was very chewy and fatty with very little actual meat. What I will say was the mash potatoes were very nice, big up whoever made the sides. Couldn’t bring myself to try the sauerkraut. We asked for the bill and the waitress said yes, left our table, served four other tables and eventually made her way back to us. Bill was higher than expected and higher than the food deserved. I wanted to write a few words to describe the place where we had lunch today, but honestly, apart from saying it was amazing and super cozy, I’m running out of words! The food was excellent, and everything came out quickly and perfectly. Our waitress was fantastic — very kind and professional — and we even left a generous tip because we were so happy with the service.

The dishes were all delicious — everything was cooked just right! The cabbage was perfect, and the sausage was great too. Honestly, I’d recommend the whole menu. The prices are also very reasonable; we were three people, left completely full, and didn’t feel hungry for the rest of the day.

I will never GO Back to this restaurant! I had ordered à pizza « Margarita ». We were 3. We waited a long Time to have thé métal. When the main courses arrived, they gave me a pizza Carbonara. I said tout us it was a mistake. But Iwaited again à long time and they never made the good pizza. 30 minutes later, I didn’t have my pizza et they proposed to me again the pizza Carbonara that was cold during the Time !! They gave the command to the other customers but they didn’t give me the pizza margarita et they asked me to accept the cold pizza Carbonara When I said something !! One hour !! After one hour, we left the restaurant and I didn’t eat anything !! And no commercial gesture for the two other main courses. I had the stomach empty and I waited 1 hour !! Very bad restaurant and very bad mentality and no respect for the customers....
