I absolutely loved this living museum. It was fun to go along to. Book early it's popular especially the English version. You take part in the experience being dragged from thr audience to participate. It's done in a fun way. Unfortunately no video's allowed. I didn't take any pictures. The English translator was really fun and understood British humour or was very polite. It takes a good hour for the witch, head chef and oath taker to swear you in. They seem to be in traditional dress. A young 15 year old black girl was given 3 pepper corns by the witch to buy her wedding out fit those were the days. Told she was getting on and to hurry up with her wedding but the peppercorns were expensive like other ingredients at the time. We then made Gingerbread the traditional way with wooden mould and oil that they cooked whilst we carried on with the show. I cheekily made two. Bit of acting to get a job there. (I HAMMED it up). The French guy picking up hid ginger man lost his head not through a guillotine either just broke by the translator she was apologetic and l offered him my spare horse shoe Gingerbread
Upstairs another show, 1908 approx machinery production but still everything decorated by hand - we could pay to gave a go. My wife did but l didn't. Little box to bring it home in. Definitely a must to see and attend, crazy acting, fun, entertaining and reasonable to take the kids to see. Just me using the translator through an ear piece. You can get cheeky with the staff through the show and it helps...
Read moreDo not be fooled by the option of a 2pm session in English. It is not, in fact, in English. It is nearly fully in Polish and English speakers will receive a headset to hear translation on. Not only is the headset very poor quality, making it nearly impossible to hear, as the volume is too low (the "live show" is far louder), the English speaker is not proficient and difficult to understand, and most importantly, the listening devices are glitchy and cut off majority of the time. While the experience at the Museum is unique, we were deceived into believing it will be in English, as advertised on their website, and brought family members with no knowledge of Polish, who were quite disappointed in the experience as they were mostly feeling out of the loop. I recommend the business remove the mis-represented option of a session in English or actually host the 2pm time slot in English as advertised, especially given that it seemed most, if not all, of the "actors" were capable of speaking English very well. It's a poor system that does not work and deceives foreigners into thinking they will understand and participate fully, which...
Read moreWe were really excited to attend the Gingerbread-making tour and even planned our entire day around it. Unfortunately, the experience fell far short of expectations. While it was advertised as an English tour, the presenters conducted the entire session in Polish.
Yes, we understand we're in Poland, but the issue is with the misleading advertising. Instead of an English-led tour, we were given earpieces to listen to a live translation from someone at the back of the room. The Polish presenters were speaking very loudly (understandably, to reach the group), which made it incredibly difficult to hear the English translation—or focus on it at all. The result was chaotic and frustrating.
We weren't the only ones struggling; many others in the room seemed lost or confused. It was such a poor experience that we ended up walking out, which was deeply disappointing given how much we were looking forward to it.
If you speak Polish, this tour might be great. But if you're an English speaker, I wouldn’t recommend it unless they change their approach to truly provide an...
