Órale22 — Restaurant in Warsaw

I’m giving this 1* because the food was not great and I was essentially asked to give my table away to a bigger group.

First time in Warsaw and I was craving Mexican so I went to this place for a very late lunch based on the reviews. It was empty, so I sat at the first table I saw, which was a big table — the one guy at the bar/register didn’t say anything. He took my order of a barbacoa burrito, nachos and guac, and a Coke Zero.

Even though the place was empty, the food took a minute to be prep’d, not a big deal. When the nachos came, they were rather oily and plain (ie no salt on them). Kudos for making nachos in-house, but you have to let them sit the oil out. The barbacoa burrito was a 90% black beans, some onions and that’s about it. Very little meat/barbacoa and no rice.

The barman said he need to step out and Alejandro (? Cook?) would take care of me if I needed anything. He never came out from the back house, but I didn’t need anything so I didn’t mind. Then a group of 4 arrived and later a group of 9 arrived (bunch of bros.) Apparently the larger group wanted or had booked the table I sat on. The barman finally return to the restaurant and then asked me if people could seat at my table, to which I said yes and told him I was finishing my meal and they could soon have the table to themselves. No one sat the table. 5 minutes later he comes back and tells me I have to move because they need the table and offer to sit me at the bar. Ridiculous. I told him to take my food away and throw it away, and I left. He did offer to offer me something (?), but I had no interest in spending any more time there.

Mediocre food and...

Obsługa i czas oczekiwania to było jakieś nieporozumienie. Zaczynajac od tego, że zrobiliśmy rezerwację na 8 osób a dostaliśmy 7 miejsc. Jako odpowiedź dostaliśmy, że w sumie to przyszliśmy w więcej osób (było nas 8 czyli tyle ile miało być) i mamy się zmieścić 🤷‍♂️ Zamówiliśmy drinki na start, na które czekaliśmy około 45m i przychodziły co jakieś 10m. Jedzenie przychodzilo też tak, że jedna osoba zdążyła już skończyć i zapomnieć a reszta musiała czekać. No i okej to jest w stanie zrozumieć bo to mały lokal. Nie jestem jednak w stanie zrozumieć czemu inni ludzi co przychodzili po nas byli już obsłużeni i wychodzili a my wciąż czekaliśmy. Jedzenie było rzucane nam na stół jak psu wręcz. Bez żadnej informacji nawet co dostajemy. Cześć zamówienia była pomylona. A o swoją część musiałem się przypomnieć bo leżała na blacie. Zdążyłem zjeść swój posiłek, który dostałem ostani i chciałem poprosić o zwrot za napoju, bo już chciałem wyjść. Pani powiedziała, że nie będzie nawet przepraszać bo nie ma za co.

Podsumowując, jedzenie było ok nic specjalnego, porcje małe i drogie. W dodatku dostałem je letnie. Natomiast obsługa i atmosfera była karygodna. Pierwszy raz byłem potraktowany w taki sposób i zdecydowanie nigdy tutaj nie wrócę.

EDIT - po odpowiedzi właściciela. Nie, nie zostałem przeproszony. Kelnerka otwarcie i wprost powiedziała mi “nie ma zamiaru przepraszać, bo nie ma za co” a to że teraz próbujecie państwo kolejny raz wmówić mi, że to jest moja wina jest już po prostu bezczelne. Faktycznie, dostaliśmy “gratisowego” drinka po godzinny pobycie w lokalu i to w momencie jak już mieliśmy wychodzić, a zarazem po tym jak mieliśmy jedzenie rzucane na stół jak psu i pokazie braku umiejętności komunikacji...

We visited Orale22 for dinner during our trip to Warsaw. We absolutely LOVED the meal we had here, which included frozen strawberry margaritas, the nachos with chilli con carne (my personal fave) and salsa verde, the chicken quesadilla, the beef quesadilla and the beef burrito. Everything was super fresh, cooked to order and tasted amazing. The owner was wonderful, friendly and super passionate about great Mexican food which was evident in the food we received. We would highly recommend Orale22 to anyone in Warsaw looking for a great Mexican meal!...
