Páteo de Alfama — Attraction in Lisbon

Price included wine, fado. Music is nice. All the vocal is good. Food is very good to my American tourist standard. My orange roasted duck is to some a little bit on the burn side. But I like things burn a little. My wife got lamb stew and it was a huge portion. Yummy. She says nice flavor and pair well with the red house wine. Enjoyable Fado show in the Alfama district in Porto. Lovely singing and performances. The food was very boring. We were part of a Gate 1 tour and the food from the prix fixe menu was tough and bland and Americanized. Most of my fellow travel mates agreed. The only really tasty part of the meal were the pickled carrots and the olives. Really wanted an authentic Portuguese meal, but was disappointed. Interesting experience with dinner and fado show. Like many fado houses around Lisbon, there's a cover charge that includes some appetizers like bread and olives. Then you can either order the set menu (which includes the cover charge) or individual dishes. My partner chose the set menu while I just ordered an entree.
