Found on the internet and reserved at 19:30. The reception was very warm and friendly. As a starter the "antipasti" dish for €14,-. Then the octopus and the Portuguese paella. The antipasti dish was fine for the money. All ready-made food. A restaurant hardly has to do anything for this. And then came the first surprise of the evening. The extremely friendly young woman serving asked if she could take the dish, which was almost empty, with her because the main course was already ready. Did they want to use the table after us for a second round and did we have to hurry? First time and we visited 500+ restaurants. Not a good thing to do. The main course arrived and yes the black rice with the octopus was at most lukewarm. The dish had probably been ready for a while. Sent back and it was resolved perfectly. The paella lacks the characteristic crust for a good paella, the soccarat. But it was very tasty. I wonder if they use the right rice for both dishes. Unfortunately that was no longer possible to judge because the black rice under the octopus was completely overcooked, mushy even without any structure. The octopus was delicious and a good portion. We indicated that we did not want a whole bottle of wine when we ordered. The service had 2 red wines. 1 full, a Douro and 1 less full but organic. And now came surprise 2 when we got the bill it turned out that my glass of wine cost €14,-. That is quite a bit above the price of the house wine of 6.50. That is disproportionate and also very important no transparency about the price in advance which is essential for a customer. I understand that people want to make money but now you have sold an expensive glass of wine but lost an otherwise satisfied customer. I saw 3 weeks ago bit the same thing happened to another customer and the owner responded with that they try to improve their service. The service is super friendly, but they have failed to improve this. The food is ok. When I saw the desserts I thought am I in a Starbucks? Brownie, Carrot cake, Apple crumble, so we skipped those. 4 stars means good. That's to much, 3 stars is so so....It 's in between. 3,6/7 I would say, without...
Read moreBEST BEER IN LISBON!
It’s my last day in Lisboa, my wife and I just happened to be passing by and decided to give this place a try. We had no reservation and were accepted with a smile, warm welcome and a cold pint! (What else could you ask for)
The Weiss Bier is by far one of the best beers I’ve ever had, a recommendation from one of the hosts. According to the host it is a collaboration between Super Bock and the restaurant, I only wish I can get this brew in the USA.
The burrata starter dish, was out of this world, the sprinkled in pistachio was a great touch to the fresh burrata.
As a main I had the Portuguese Paella. As soon as the plate landed on our table the aromas hit you like a punch of flavors, the dish itself just says “hey I’m here, I’m delicious … come and get it!” 10/10
Overall very pleased, if I end up back in Lisboa in the future this place is...
Read moreThe experience that Antu is marketing is well done, however the food looks good but did not meet the expectation of the reviews. You have to consider that what you consider fine dining may be very different to another reviewer. The starter platter was yummy and we had high expectations that our main course would be great too! Unfortunately the octopus was too salty even for the bland black ink risotto that accompanied it. My husbands cod was over cooked and lacked a bit of thought to the accompanying ingredients. My children had steak that was well cooked ( although the rice/cheese cake thing that came with it was overpowering and would have suited the cod better)…maybe if all you want are starters and drinks and to be in the place to be. Try Antu. If you want fine dinning with ingredients that sing,...
