York Burger — Restaurant in Lisbon

The Google reviews I had read gave me high expectations for this place, and all of them were exceeded. It is one of a kind. A family business open for almost 30 years, it is run by some of the friendliest people I’ve met in a long time. The food is great, the drinks are excellent, and the whole vibe is incredible.

I wish I had been here not during COVID, because I would love to drink here late with friends, listen to the fun music, and enjoy the atmosphere. But even for someone traveling alone, I felt totally welcomed. I have come twice already and will try to stop by a third time before leaving Lisbon. Whenever I come back to Lisbon, I’ll be sure to eat here again. I’ll send my family & friends here when they travel, and I hope to enjoy it with them too.

11/10 would recommend. You won’t regret it. They have vegetarian options, and they really know the menu and will help you pick something good (although I think everything is probably good).

Also, during the pandemic they are very careful, very respectful, and absolutely take care to follow every precaution. I was here near closing and was really impressed with the cleaning process.

We went to this restaurant last summer, and it made an impression, so I wanted to make sure to leave a review. My family and I were hangry: my husband and kiddo were fighting mad after a long day of walking around enjoying Lisbon. We were getting approached left and right by agressive restaurant hosts, and for once, we didn’t want seafood. I found this place on the map because it was so highly rated and reasonable priced, and it was close to our apartment. It was like an oasis for the hangry tourist family. The manager (owner?) was so welcoming. They were full, but he wanted to accommodate us, so he set up a table across the very narrow street. It was less than ideal, but we were just happy to find somewhere so welcoming. However, our daughter was in a wobbly seat due to the cobble stone, so the minute another table opened, the manager insisted we let him move us. He was charming, very nice to our 9-yr-old, and enjoyed pranking us and anyone who would let him. He added to an already convivial vibe. The guys here treated us and everyone around us like royalty, and did so in a very genuine manner. We can't get enough of this fantastic place. We've already been here 2-3 times already and once we get back to Lisbon in a few days, we will be sure to visit with them again. It's a real good spot and as I said, the guys running the place are absolute rockstars for service, comedy, kindness and professionalism. By the way, the vast majority of the seats are on the street so if you don't see an open table, just ask and I'm sure they'll bring out a table for you, no problem. The people-watching scene here is as good as it gets by the way and with the Fado playing from across the street at another restaurant, it all adds up to a perfect combination for dinner, drinks or both.
