Brasserie Luther — Restaurant in Zona Metropolitană Brașov

Horrible service! Cold food. Visited for brunch on August 12, 2022. Just a shame, it's in a great location with nice decor but it seems to be all style and no substance. The food, and especially the service, was beyond terrible and unprofessional. Our waiter, a middle aged male, was rude, disinterested and took a very long time to bring our food. The food itself, egg florentine, came cold. I actually got food poisoning (norovirus) later that day and while I cannot pinpoint if it was from the very cold eggs (who knows how long they were sitting after being poached) or the salad, it's definitely been a prime suspect.

I would have excused all this but by far the worst part was a waitress named Bianca; a larger lady with a serious attiude problem who came to write us up for the bill. She was very upset when I asked to pay by credit card and especially when I asked to split the bill as is normal any other place in the world. When I asked her to split bill she snapped back with "why, so that it's easier for you"? I said "yea" and she stared back for a few minutes fuming. She said "well just so you know we don't do that here in Romania". Listen, I'm on vacation and I'm a paying customer. Of course I want my bill split for me and of course it's because it's easier for me. That's why I'm on vacation, and not working. The place was mostly empty at that time and it took her quite literally two minutes to split the bill for us.

If paying by credit card or splitting the bill is "hard" or uncommon in the rest of Romania, perhaps the ownership and staff should have considered that before opening up/working at establishment in a peak tourist zone. Perhaps as well Bianca should have considered the advanced mathematics and the calories she would have to expend on calculating the split on so many bills and maybe picked a different career altogether. Amazing experience!!! I don't know where to begin about Restaurant Luther!

Having been dropped off in Old Town with no instructions or directions about where to go on the first night in Brasov? I hit the jack pot finding and dining in this establishment in so many ways!

The table was perfect by the window so we could watch the downtown district, people and business in the quaint plaza during our evening! "Luther's" decor on the inside is clean and beautifully designed in the period atmosphere I would expect and wish for given this cityies history! As for the dinner and menu items offered? That's the next level I again could only wish for on our first visit

Fact: The Server "Elena" made the whole evening perfect!

Her level of professionalism and friendly demeanor brought the evening together with her confidence in the menu and fantastic recommendations course by course!!!

This is what travelors from afar want to experience when they come into a new city! In my travels, I see so many beautifully designed restaurants and menus! In many cases the Owner's and Chefs neglect to consider that the quality, experience and personality of the Servers that represent their establishments are key to a successful dining experience!

This young lady brought it all together! She is their winner! The reason I will give this restaurant my best compliments! The food was prepared perfectly and plated with care and perfect balance! Atmosphere and temperature in a cold evening out with window seating was another huge success! We were very comfortable and relaxed throughout the evening so that we could relax and enjoy our dining experience!

Worst restaurant experience ever! To begin with we arrived at 22:50 and asked if the kitchen is still open and very kindly said yes of course come in! Since then they told as that we had 5 min to order because the kitchen closes at 23:00. We didn't have time to read the menu and made random choice as the the waiter kept pressuring us to order. Our food came 10 minutes max later, like it was ready-cooked meals reheated. The mix green Salad was OK but the the plate was dirty. As a starter we had hummus with sauté mashrooms and bread. The hummus tasted like from the supermarket. French fries were even worst than street food ones. One of the main courses was risotto inside parmesan bowl. The smell and the taste was like old reused fried oil. The other main course was beef filet with a sauce. Not medium cooked as described from the waiter, though the portion was very large, it was difficult to chew.. The last main course was penne with chicken and mushrooms. It tasted good but a hair in it terminated our patience! Finally, we ordered a belvedere vodka and Hendricks gin. Plain alcohol, no taste of either brand. However eventually they offered as a dessert on the house and they didn't charge the "hairy" plate. We left without finishing our drinks because all the waiters were "above our heads" waiting for us to leave.
