Stingy, unfriendly hotel, with complacent and uncaring staff, do not book here
This hotel has left me no choice but to give it the lowest rating.
Before booking and changing my booking over from another third party site to their site directly, I told them, I wanted to pay in advance, they refused, I kept asking. And then of course during the time of my visit the USD took a plunge, I knew it was going to happen. The staff at the hotel, some guy with a nonsense attitude gave me some garbage response about how the US banks charge them high feels for refunding. Frankly speaking it is none of my business about any of that. You as a hotel need to deal with that, not complain to the customers about it. I was not impressed.
I wrote them the following email immediately after my stay a few weeks ago and of course, until now, there is no response, once the guest leaves they don't care.
I highly suggest not even bothering to stay in Brasov, the attitude of businesses there is money money money. They don't care about customer service or anything else. Come through here, there is no need to stay, or only stay one night and choose a cheaper option because it isn't going to matter, the more you pay does not mean you are going to get more.
This hotel is very stingy. Especially charging over 100 Euro a night.
Refused to let me pay in advance and on check-in gave me some excuse about refund percentages from US banks. Not my issue, and none of my business, why are you complaining to guests about this? You say you were an accountant in the US, I travel international and deal with US banks all the time, whatever you said is nonsense. I do international business with banks around the world. I know how it works, you just tried to give some nonsense excuse.
Charging guests 9 lei for a bottle of water is unbelievable.... the grocery store next to the hotel it costs 3 lei. but you can't even give guests one bottle? Stingy!
No slippers, such small cost.
No tissues.
No bathrobe.
Lights flickering in the room for no reason. When asked, shrugs their shoulders has no idea and doesn't bother to check up on it.
Just as I was about to leave my room I found a huge bee on my bed. They are lucky and I am lucky that it didn't attack me while in the room. I doubt seriously they did anything about it. My windows were not opened either. I was ill and used the heater during my one night.
Also I informed them I didn't want stairs to get to my room as they aren't going to help with baggage and I had no one to help me... They never bothered to inform me that first floor still has steps. Steps to get up to the hotel, and then to my room there were two areas of steps on the first floor to get to my room which was still on the first floor, the same floor as the check-in. I purposely booked first floor as per conversations with them months before my visit! There was no mention about these steps.
In Europe generally in most hotels, even lower star rated hotels will have things such as water and a slippers. Bathrobes depend and tissues seem to be hard to find, however, for over a 100 Euro a night, this place is one of the most expensive places in the city center right across from the square, yet, they provide you nothing!
The biggest issue is with payment, I asked again and again they refused, the hotel ended up costing me more than 20 USD more because of the exchange rate difference between the time I booked and asked them to pay and the time I actually checked out. As far as I am concerned the hotel owes me $20, which I know they won't pay, so here's your tip, a negative review that I can only hope costs you customers which will be heavier hit on you than my $20. Perhaps you should learn something from my review, but based on your attitude while I was there, I suspect nothing will change.
Forgot staying in Brasov, pass through, see the things you want to see, and then move on to another city that is more friendly to tourists, the other cities I stayed in were much happier to see me and offered so much more for a...

Read moreI was at seat n°12 on the 21st December 2024. Everything was fine. It looked nice. My sitting table was next to a French men couple who are staying at the hotel.
It started with the waiter telling me what I can get or can't get. Which I didn't mind. So it all went well, I didn't mind certain rudeness from your waiter. Until the end, he pushed me to ask for my bill abruptly without any explanation. I asked him about the closing hour and he said 22h. You better hurry and leave. I told him but on the internet it is marketed at 23h (which was confirmed by the lady at the bar). Then I asked him: how about the other people still sitting and having a steak on a hot stone. He reacted by leaving.
That was really to me. I cannot fathom where the rudeness came from and why was it targeted to me. I have been but not nice to the people in the restaurant and respectful to the staff. Ask them. Which adds to my surprise: why the rudeness?. Why did he tell me to pay and leave?.
I went to confront him and tell him about it. The old waiter guy understood he was in the wrong but NEVER acknowledged his impulsive behavior nor his mistake. Not to add to this, the French next sitting table was surprised why were they overcharged for a meal the marketed a different price then that of the menu. The answer of the same waiter was : I just added some stuff for you.
You will recognize, Madame Ardelean Ramona, that this behavior is absolutely unacceptable. I do not tend to make a fuss about stuff, but this is the 1st time this has happened to me. I left very upset, unhappy and disoriented. What was it? Was it because I told him I am from Maroc or was it because I looked gay to him?. I am completely confused.
I am sorry to bother you with this letter. It is not an easy thing to do and I dislike bothering people. And I do not wish him harm. But this cannot go unheard of nor...
