The Sunken Garden is designed to be an artistic space with a tranquil atmosphere. However, the loud splashing of water disrupts the intended calmness and becomes quite irritating. There’s also a waffle house nearby, and the constant noise makes it difficult to enjoy a peaceful meal if you plan to dine there.

A more thoughtful design—such as using fine threads or channels to guide the water flow—could reduce splashing and improve the overall experience. The concept itself isn’t bad, but the execution fails to achieve the intended serenity. Still, the place has potential if refined.

サンケンガーデンは、芸術的で静かな雰囲気を目指したデザインですが、水のはねる音が大きく、落ち着いた空間を壊してしまっています。近くにワッフル店もあり、その音で静かに食事を楽しむのは難しいです。

糸や細い水路などで水の流れを調整すれば、はねる音を抑えて雰囲気を改善できるでしょう。コンセプト自体は悪くありませんが、実際の仕上がりが意図とずれており、惜しい印象です。

沉園的設計原意是營造藝術感與寧靜氛圍，但實際上水花聲過大，反而令人感到煩躁。旁邊有一家鬆餅店，嘈雜的聲音讓人難以享受原本該有的靜謐感。

若能以細線或導水設計引導水流，減少濺起聲與水花，整體體驗會好得多。構想不錯，但執行上未達理想。不過，若重新調整，仍具發展潛力。

Der Sunken Garden wurde als künstlerischer Raum mit ruhiger Atmosphäre entworfen. Allerdings ist das laute Plätschern des Wassers störend und nimmt der Umgebung die gewünschte Gelassenheit. In der Nähe befindet sich ein Waffelhaus, dessen Geräusche die Atmosphäre zusätzlich beeinträchtigen, besonders wenn man dort essen möchte.

Eine Lösung wie feine Fäden oder Kanäle, um den Wasserfluss zu lenken, könnte das Spritzen reduzieren. Die Idee ist gut, aber die Umsetzung verfehlt die Vision. Trotzdem besteht Potenzial, wenn nachgebessert wird.

Если бы вода направлялась с помощью тонких нитей или специальных каналов, можно было бы уменьшить разбрызгивание и шум. Идея сама по себе неплохая, но реализация не оправдывает замысел. Тем не менее, у места есть потенциал при доработке.

The Sunken Garden is a standout feature of the Japanese Garden at Jurong Lake Gardens, officially reopened in September 2024 after a five-year redevelopment. It offers a serene, beautifully designed escape surrounded by lush greenery.

At its center is a cenote-inspired rainwater pool that enhances the tranquil atmosphere, alongside a striking moss wall built from Paras stones, home to over 200 species of epiphytes including rare orchids and ferns. Its sunken layout and dense planting create a naturally cooler microclimate, making it a refreshing retreat — and a photogenic one too, with its thoughtful design and lush textures.
