As part of SG60, there was a promotion to visit the science centre and the Omni theatre free. It was a bit confusing though as although the ticket listed this two places as free, you would have to book separately for each movie slot. I learned later that each admission ticket that day could book one movie. However they opened up another queue for walk in admission. And I believed anyone who used the walk in managed to go in. I managed to watch all the films that day except for Stars Dreaming. Animal Kingdom was the most interesting film with nice visuals and interesting facts. Cities of the future was quite a boring one that covered a few cities around the world on the issues of environment sustainability. Some audiences actually walked out of it. Kitz the cat's Secret of the Space Station was the only film with a storyline and also made use of the Onimax effect to make you nauseous and dizzy in a few scenes. It was an animation targeted at children although the theme can be quite dark. It was still educational. I believed it was a Korean production and some dialogues were quite awkward. Overall I would only recommend Animal Kingdom. I found the dome screen rather dim though. But all the pixels on the screen were working fine. The images were not clear and the animal kingdom felt like a low Res film. The theatre is digital 8k though according to the staff. In terms of environment, you need to put up with talking children and eating. Even the mother next to me kept using her hp and I need to tell her about it. Later she started to provide narration to her child. So be prepared to put up with the annoyances of these people. There were a lot of stairs climbing up and down. If you are mobility challenged you could seek help from the staff and gained access via a lift. This theatre along with the science centre would be torn down for another new building. Not sure would there be an Omni theatre in the future. Long ago I watched other shows like Grand Canyon, Space walk and diving in the sea. All were good documentaries.

Omnimax theater is one of the best place for movies like Everest where you can watch at a widescreen. I got my tickets at Klook. Very cool 😎. Visit if you can. Open up your eyes and see the world in a different light . You will enjoy. Not only the theater, snow city, kidstop, science center is just next to the theater. Moreover there is a Indian restaurant Phoenix there too for meals. The annual pass is very worth too. The kids will like it. There is also rock climbing activity too. There’s car parks readily available too.

Located at the Science Centre Singapore, the Omni-Theatre is Southeast Asia’s first and only IMAX dome theatre – and it’s an experience that’s truly out of this world.

From the moment you step into the dome, you know you’re in for something special. The massive 23-meter wide screen curves around your field of vision, fully immersing you in stunning visuals. Whether it’s deep-sea exploration or a journey through space, the clarity and scale make you feel like you’re part of the action.

The show lineup changes periodically, but it often features nature documentaries, astronomy journeys, or scientific adventures that are both educational and visually spectacular. The narration is usually crisp and engaging, and the soundtrack enhances the emotional weight of what you see.

Seats are angled for optimal viewing, though it’s worth noting that if you’re prone to motion sickness or have neck strain issues, the dome format might feel overwhelming during some scenes. Still, for most visitors — especially families with kids or science enthusiasts — the experience is...

The omni-theatre was by far the biggest dissapointment I've experienced in a very long time. What a beautiful facility, completely wasted on nonesense. crazy expensive price for a 25 min fictional show with cats cleaning up garbage on earth, in space and a visit to some fake place on the moon. Ok, how about some actual science? That is suitable for children? A tour of our solar system perhaps? Visit the planets and the moons maybe? ANYTHING REMOTELY INTERESTING? My kid was so excited to see planets, it was hard to explain what this nonesense show was about, both during and after the show. Pathetic, waste of time. $50sgd for a 25min show that could just as well be posted on youtube. A waste of money and effort to come here. It seems whoever thought up this garbage has no respect for young minds or their visitors. I could probaby stomach the cost if it was interesting and fulfilling. I would love to have my money back, but even more to see this place close if they cannot do better than what...
