This was genuinely the worst experience I’ve had at this branch. We’re regulars at Susu but the experience we had today was absolutely terrible. My mother and I went in to order and the cashier who served us didn’t even greet us properly or smile when we did. I asked the cashier about a series of drinks I had seen on uber eats (the mochi series, specifically the strawberry cream mochi) before placing my order and she told me they didn’t have it. I then placed an order for something else instead. After closely comparing the uber eats description to the actual menu, I noticed they did serve a similar drink (the strawberry crème brûlée) and so I asked if we could possibly switch out the order for the strawberry crème brûlée, to which she said no because they already had labels on them (but they hadn’t started making any of the drinks yet). My mom then tried to get her attention to ask if we could perhaps discuss this with the manager to make the switch because we were offering to pay whatever extra we needed to but she completely ignored my mom despite hearing her. I then called out to her myself and she was planning to ignore me as well until her coworker told her to respond to me. We explained the situation to her and she said she would ask the manager and she came back and told us the manager said it was not possible. After this, we decided to place an order separately and when I pointed at the strawberry crème brûlée and asked if it was the same one I saw on uber eats (I showed her on my phone), she asked me if I wanted the strawberry crème brûlée or the one I pointed at on my phone (the strawberry cream mochi from the mochi series). My mom and I asked her what the difference was since she told us they didn’t have the mochi series and the lady said the strawberry cream mochi was part of the mochi series they have. My mom and I were extremely confused because she said they didn’t have the mochi series when I asked her (twice) before placing my order and now suddenly she was saying they have it. And when I asked her why she said no when I asked her about it at the beginning, she didn’t answer me. So this entire thing could have been avoided if she wasn’t dishonest from the beginning. What makes it worse is that because we couldn’t replace our drink, my mom had to pay more for another drink because the cashier was dishonest and rude. It’s so disheartening to get this type of service from Susu because we’ve been fans for years and I don’t see us going back to...

What a cute little gem of a store!!

I've only just "re"-hopped onto the bubble tea bandwagon...and MoMo does not disappoint!!!

The varieties are certainly not lacking but it is absolutely outside of my pay grade when it comes to explaining any of it!!

All I know is that there's a Mango Tornado that basically magically transports you to an Island Paradise....I took a sip and suddenly the voices in my head were all going nuts!

"Are we walking to our car, or are we walking to our Mauritian Villa?", "Is it me or is this parking lot getting tropical?!"

The service is a bit lacking in terms of keeping the happy and chirpy theme, but the staff members are helpful and as patient as can be when assisting ignorant patrons such as myself. The store usually gets pretty busy so it is understandable that they are doing their very best!

The appearance of the store could be ramped up, especially with the amount of business streaming in! The floors could be cleaner etc...

That being said, it is a "what you see is what you get" type of place and I quite like that for what it is.

The strip on which MoMo is placed is culturally rich, providing one with authentic Asian cuisine that isn't as easily accessible throughout the rest of Johannesburg, which really makes it the perfect experience!

The prices are quite reasonable compared to other bubble tea kiosks I've tried out and more than that...they have the exciting and mind blowing sealing machine that makes your drink look like it was prepackaged!

Whether you try it out for a mind bending momentary holiday, or just for the culture explosion, it definitely is...

I come here ALL THE TIME. They have newly renovated their shop, so the decorations and atmosphere is amazing, as it gives a fresh, new, viby feel. It looks very similar to their Cape Town branch. When it comes to Bubble tea, they are honestly one of the best in Johannesburg so far. I have tried many other bubble tea places, and I always end up coming back here. The milk bubble tea range is the best, I haven't found a place that does it better than them so far. Whereas their fruit range is also good, but would also be nice to see them incorporate real fresh fruit in it. With this being said, there is not much to complain about the way they make it or the range of drinks they offer. The service they provide is also good, staff is helpful and kind. Never had a bad experience with them, as they always do their jobs amazingly.

PS. It doesn't happen often, but I should suggest you always check your order, especially if you add extras to your drink. As I have had times where they would forget to add extra pearls. As said before, it doesn't happen often, but it is always better to check than realise you are...

This was the best bubble tea I’ve ever had! I had the choco-misu from the new tiramisu range and added pudding (custard) to it. I’d definitely have it again. I loved that they seal the cups, makes transporting it so much easier. I didn’t add ice to it but it was still nice and cold. I opted for the normal sugar option but would like to try reducing the sugar next time to make it healthier - it’s great that they offer this option. I’ve also tried the caramel milk tea with almond pudding but the almond essence is a bit overpowering (difficult to get this right though). It was nice but I would rather have the chocolate any day. The vibe of this little store is reflected in its bubbly decor 😎
