We decided to give this place a try for dinner. There is no parking available upfront but further down the road, there is paid parking available at the shopping complex. We ordered for takeaway and the wait was not too long. The lady does have a language issue so we pointed to the items on the menu but the workers are so helpful and they place the order with the lady for you. The food was not up to our liking. The filling in the dumplings was a weird combination of egg, prawn and pork meat. When we placed the order for the combination, it stayed 3 fillings but it was not clear that it was 3 fillings combined into one. The beef flank dish was just noodles, a few pieces of meat and a tub of broth. It lacked salt and was not tasty. The pork fried rice was a texture challenge as it was had both mushy and undercooked rice. The meat was overcooked and dry. The wonton soup and chow mein was just okay. This place is rather pricey and the food doesn’t taste great!! I will give it a miss...
Read moreThis restaurant specializes on boiled dumplings rather steamed or fried like potstickers. Very different.
We ordered a mixed filling dumplings and the standard Chinese cabbage with pork dumplings for my son. I can tell you that their dumpling skins are cooked to perfection. It has the right chewy-ness (you don't want a mushy wrapping) and the most important part is the fillings are flavourful & it has the right ratio to the dough. They also serve cold sides, noodles and noodle in soups. They are more on the authentic traditional side which means very Chinese flavoured and Asian styled foods like tofus, seaweed, chilli oil, tripe etc.
The restaurant is clean and well spaced. Just don't expect 5-star service and plates laid-out. Each dish is less than R100 and the nice thing about eating Chinese food is sharing like...
Read moreWent on the recommendation of a local vlogger. Service was almost non-existant. We were not helped to a table and waited 10 minutes before the dirty dishes from the previous table were taken away. Waited 45 minutes for one part of the meal and another 15 minutes for dumplings - this was after the fact that we were told they were out of all the other dumplings and only had beef left (this place is called Daisy DUMPLING house). Food was good but not worth the terrible service. Staff member and owner acted like they were doing you a favour by even acknowledging you, rude and unfriendly. Ruined the...
