Update after my last visit December 2024... It is still great value for money. But they really need to consider aupgrade.TheWhile the staff is friendly, and the check-in and check-out is efficient, the units smell old and also needs a freah paint. **** I haven't been here for a while. But the place is still as convenient and affordable as I remember it. There is a dedicated front desk from 8am to 5pm on the ground floor, and a 24/7 security desk is on the lower ground floor. Parking is included in the per night rate. The bachelor apartment (bed can be separated from lounge by closing a concertina door) is big and comfortable. They don't have a sofa, but the 2 armchairs work. There is lots of cupboard space and space to work. NB. There is no backup electricity during loadshedding, so check schedules beforehand so that you can plan accordingly. They have a WhatsApp line and do let you know about the loadshedding there. Ps. Park on the level that takes you to Clicks and Woolworths to be on the right floor. The entrance to the apartments is between Clicks and Woolworths, on the same (left) side. Only reason for the 3 stars is because the unit (203) has a strong musty/damp smell, and the windows rattle very loudly when the wind blows. Also, the shower in the bath causes lots of water to spill on the floor, so one has to clean this daily to avoid slipping. The stove, oven and microwave are really old, though functional. The centre has quite a few shops and a few ATMs.

I loved this place. The apartments are spacious and are well equipped with kitchenware to make life easier. The only negative I have was that we needed to remind them of giving us clean towels on a daily basis and making sure our dustbins are also emptied daily. The other point I loved is that the centre had shops that are convenient and affordable to the masses.

What a nice hotel inside a shopping mall with a beautiful table mountain view..but the wind from the mountain was not too comfortable especially at night

Extensive review of Garden Holiday Apartment by me:

Cons: Communication with the manager was poor. It was difficult to get essentials like towels and the manager was unhelpful and unfriendly when approached. Her only fast response to everything was “please give your understanding”. She prioritized new arrivals over guests who had been staying for a few weeks, which was disappointing because I paid the same amount and she made me feel like I am not important. It happened often that I got the towel after hours, so after 4 times I couldn’t accept anymore and give my understanding and she was not helpful and argued with me. Limited internet data provided upon arrival (5 GB) and no additional data provided upon rebooking. You will need your own data! The apartment is old and needs renovation, especially the bathroom and kitchen pans. Construction noise in the building was disruptive, and there were occasional water outages until 2 pm. Confusing faucets: one for hot water and one for cold.

Pros: Beautiful view of Table Mountain from the apartment. Convenient location in a shopping mall with easy access to a supermarket. Friendly cleaning staff, especially the smaller one who was lovely. Located in a relatively safe area, though the presence of homeless people made me feel unsafe, opting for Uber for...

The person I was sharing the room with described its decor and furniture as "A cheesy motel like the one from the Umbrella Academy (Netflix series) that transports you back into the 70s, but not in the good way". I tend to agree. Not enough power points in the room. Our friends in the other room did not have hot water and came to ours to shower. The windows did not latch completely so the noise of the Cape Town wind was everpresent. Did I mention that the room wasn't pretty inside? They gave the pair of us only one key for the room, which was frustrating having to coordinate key location whenever either of us wanted to go to the accommodation. I would not recommend...
