The owner of this place is a condescending and entitled racist woman. Typical Cape Town neo-colonizer who treats her black staff like children. Would not advise staying here.
| | | In response to the owner Please check your white SA'rican fragility, and come correct with who you had spoken to. No one shouted at you. No one attacked you. I am not a young lady. I'm a grown black woman, with a name and as I iterated this morning... a working professional, and your neighbour who happened to approach you in fairness to ask about the incessant alarm that has been a consistent disturbance. To which I was met with dismissal, and being called "sweetie", and later accused of "attacking" you.
If you need a social theory lesson on racism, race relations and language - and a reminder need I say, on whose land you're on - I advise you invest in a free online course, i.e. google that teaches you about what exactly "racism", racist behaviour and ignorance is. And I'm pretty sure you'll see a resemblance in that mirror. That being said, just because black people have worked for you for years doesn't mean they are your family - please check yourself on that white liberal saviour complex, and fix your gate and your...
Read moreI'll rate this place as a conference centre because that is what I was there for and I didn't utilize their guestrooms.
1 star for Peggy, she was the only good and competent thing about this place. Always served with a smile and always nearby to assist with queries. Also beautiful flower garden
On the other hand, the service here is beyond horrible. Furniture in the conference room is outdated, all bathrooms I used had a weird smell. I don't even want to comment on the food...half a star. 1 morning I tried to order breakfast and they wanted to inflate their prices to more than what they had priced on the menu, so I left it. We were given a 500ml/1L carafe of water to share between 2 at the beginning of the day and it would never be refilled during the course of the day. Mind you most couples would go through the water within the first 2hrs of the day. No parking for attendees so you have to park on the road. On the first day of the conference I wasn't aware of this so I called reception to find out where I should park and was told very rudely that I park on the road.
If you thinking of booking this place for a conference, I would totally...
Read moreI organized a trip to Cape Town perhaps six months ago partly for Business and partly for pleasure. I understand Cape Town is on the cusp of a real boom; I was also intrigued by the unusual topography, and the exotic cultures.
An agent recommended Mountain Manor. What a recommendation!
I found the other guests to be rather adventurous, somewhat affluent, and consistently intelligent and thoughtful.
About the accommodations. I hesitate to say my “room“ since it was quite large, and so tastefully furnished. An understated classiness.
The facility has a swimming pool and a minimal but effective workout area, both of which I used daily.
I found the staff, without exception, genuinely interested in my comfort. And, of course, they recognized and greeted me after the second day or so.
Location. 10 minutes or so from Table Mountain, and maybe 10 minutes from the Waterfront. I spent enough time in Cape Town to be fairly confident that for business and sightseeing preferences, it is the best.
It’s unfortunate I can only give five stars to this “hotel“ it could easily become my home...
