Roxy Late Night — Restaurant in undefined

I ordered the Chickpea burger and it was overloaded with sauces and toppings, which made the bread really soggy. The cheese on it was a shredded cheese mix melted together like it's own slice, but weirdly not onto the the burger. The burger itself was this mushy black bean patty. Maybe five individual chickpeas in the burger. The fries that came with it weren't cooked all the way through. I also ordered the mozzarella garlic bread. It was alright, but there was more cheddar than mozzarella.

The Chocolate brownie they have was very moist. On preference, I like brownies with a bit of crunch.

(Edit) I didn't realize I was being watched, but I remained at Roxy for less than 5 minutes after getting my food, and ate my fries as I was waiting for my ride, and took the top bun off my burger. Your waiter saw me checking my food. I sat there for over 20 minutes waiting to receive my food, following the placement of my takeaway order. The name of the burger was simply misleading, I expected it to be more of a crushed chickpeas situation. As a tenured vegetarian, I've not only ordered, but made better Black bean burgers. I don't usually write reviews but this is now the second time I've been to Roxys. The waiter are rude and the service is slow. We came for the beer special which apparently ran out even though people were still ordering the beers from the bar?

The other drinks not on special are pretty expensive for Cape Town standards considering the place isn't exactly fancy.

The card machine stopped working when we tried to pay. Apparently a common occurrence, but yet they have no back ups, no atm nearby and no snapscan. We were told to EFT even though half the table were internationals so it would cost a substantial amount to EFT. instead of apologising and trying to solve the issue the waiter gets very sarcastic and rude. After 30minutes of back on forth on how to pay he realises they have another card machine that works.

Very meh… kinda put a damper on our evening. Overpriced starters that just fall apart, the pasta in the Mac and Cheese balls was soft and soggy, perhaps better to use the words overcooked? The tomato sauce it came with was cold and clumpy almost tasted like it was straight out of a diced tomatoes can. Not a vibe.

The waiter was alone which made it difficult to get much service without flagging him down or waiting for him to come past our table.
