If you are scrolling through reviews and you have been noodling back & forth on where to stay while visiting camps bay/Cape Town- this is the review you are wanting to read to rest assure you: this hotel is amazing.
We were visiting for my friends wedding and weeks prior, I went through the reviews myself and so many call out how awesome this hotel’s location, service, and overall experience. They are not wrong. This hotel has the best location, up a bit from the loudness of camps bay scene, but close enough to walk to the restaurants during the day and it is right across the street from the beach, which you also get stunning views of the Atlantic, along with table top mountain! The service is what you feel throughout your stay. The welcome greeting when you walk into the hotel to the stunning decor to your room, and the continuous upkeep of your room needs is felt throughout the stay. Concy, Camiil, Rennia, Alice, Sean, Brent and the entire staff - what a team. We felt like VIP the entire time we stayed. Along with tranquility, from the architecture aesthetics throughout and the gentle trickling water is soothing if you take your breakfast under their outdoor awning. The kitchen makes delicious food, from Breakfast shakshuka to the lunch venison burger - phenomenal. The breakfast layout each morning was yummy salmon, fresh squeezed juices and fruit, along w a stacked POD breakfast menu of breakfast mains. We stayed for 4 nights, 5 days - we booked the room with the private pool. I originally was indecisive because the deluxe suite had the views but the private (heated) pool is sooo lovely. There is a stocked complimentary minibar that had nice selection of wine/beer and soda, along with daily still and sparking waters. One thing I had wished we taken advantage of is the masseuse on site. Ubers r easy to drop off/pick up and the location is a quick 10min drive to Victoria & Alfred wharf. It really is a great location!
Overall, the price is worth the stay. I cannot say anything less about this incredible hotel - it was simply the best. ♥️ They did read my notes - wished me and my husband a happy anniversary and did this beautiful rose petal w champagne display - it was just lovely. Thank you POD, for giving us this 5-star experience that will last in our memories for many...

I would be remiss if I didn't start my review by saying that I have never stayed at a hotel that the staff treated us like family and so incredibly well. They did everything they could to attend to our needs, treat us like king and queen, and make sure we were comfortable. The front desk knew us by name and the other staff (bartender, doorman, etc.) were just outstanding. I would stay here again solely because of the staff. Two examples - it was my birthday during our stay and they surprised me with a cake in the room and also provided a bottle of champagne.
Location wise, you are a block from the beach and most of the rooms have at least partial ocean views. The lobby and bar/pool area also have mostly full ocean views. Nearby, you can walk to coffee, bars, banks, and a grocery store. (all within 10 minutes walking). If you want to be in Camp's Bay, the location is basically perfect since you are close to everything, but not in everything.
The room we rented was on the first floor with a plunge pool. The shower was great, the toilet was separate, and the room was spacious. The bed was comfy (king size), minibar stocked and included in your stay, had a separate sitting area inside, and then the outdoor patio had two large loungers and a bench with covering where you could lay. The pool was perfect to relax and sip a drink. Was it "small", yes, but it was perfect for two people relaxing.
Breakfast is included and made to order. It was quite good. Additionally, they have a wide selection of movies and they will pop you popcorn so you can have a movie and popcorn afternoon or night! (Or morning I guess :) )
Finally, they have a generator so you are not impacted by the occasional rolling blackouts.
The only single negative was that the air con was not working during our stay, which was the only negative. They did get us a fan and made the situation right. Because they handled it so well they still get a five star in my eyes. Thank you Pod for a great stay on...
Read moreOverall.||We stayed for four days, and it was magnificent. Loved the style, location and rooms. The best bit was the service, however. Pretty unbeatable. Highly recommended ||The Good.||1. The location is fantastic overlooking the beach and beside the strip of shops, bars and restaurants. The building makes the most of the view, even though there is an old apartment block in front of the hotel. The views to the Twelve Apostles are also really good.||2. The style of the property is very contemporary with lots of outdoor seating, pool and a nice bar areas. It was a great place to sit all day.||3. The rooms were huge, with modern decor. The balcony looked out to the beach and was a great place to sit and relax. There were lots of extras, from free bottles of wine (refilled every day), coffee machine, free water, and lots of snacks. There was also a nice internal seating area. Hot water bottles are provided on colder evenings, the bed is comfortable and the room clean.||4. The bathroom is again pretty modern in style and had a great shower.||5. Food was excellent. We generally had breakfast in the room, and all was good, especially the cooked items. The main breakfsst offered even more choice, including lovely gluten-free pecan and banana bread.||6. The standout was the service. Impeccable, friendly, efficient, and generous. Check-in was superb and a glass of bubbly always helps. The staff offered a great parking service and really could not have done more. One day, there was a little repair work being done, and when we went back to the room, there was a free bottle of sparkling wine as an apology! Very generous. Their recommendations for places to eat were also very good. Definitely some of the best service we ha e ever received.||The...
