I guess Hyundai should stick w/cars. I really didnt see anything special in the Hyundai Dept Store n Duty Free. The store lay outs are rather different in most Asian countries. Korea is one of them. The stores have too many things spread around in a disorderly manner, mixed w/food establishments. As a long time retailer n buyer i find it disorganized and inefficient in most cases. I traveled since i have been 15 yrs old. Been n seen 46 countries out of the 195 in the world n rarely didnt shop. Korea was one of them. Somehow, i had a hard time to find anything to buy among the thousands of goods, that tells me there is something wrong n missing the way goods were displayed. Somehow doesnt make it attractive enough to purchase. I tried to get red ginseng but the area they were displayed did not have proper english signs or price info. The sales lady was busy w/ another customer n made no effort to acknowledge me. And im sure she didnt speak english either. So i decided to skip n buy it from another duty free store in the airport or some where else which i eventually did. If u go to Coex Mall u may as well go n check out the Hyundai Dept store too. But personally, neither Coex Mall nor the Hyundai Dept Store are or should be on your list of places to see if u r a tourist staying short term in Seoul. Besides getting organized tours u may have more fun n see more interesting things if u walk around town n random streets in...
Read moreThis review is about the food court located on B1 of the Hyundai Department Store in COEX. It’s our go-to spot when my husband and I can’t agree on what to eat or don’t have any particular cravings.
Personally, I prefer the newly renovated food court at their 압구정 branch. The modern interior and brighter lighting create a much more pleasant atmosphere. Some of the restaurants and menu items are similar across both locations, but perhaps because of the ambiance, the food at 압구정 feels a bit better overall.
During our visit to the COEX location, we ordered the assorted fish and cold noodles—both were just okay, but consistent. They’ve remained pretty much the same over the years. If they updated the COEX food court to match the 압구정 one, I think we’d find ourselves coming here more often when we can’t decide on a specific...
Read moreVisited the Hyundai Department Store Trade Center Branch today after a stroll from Starfield Library through the Starfield COEX Mall. The seamless connection through underground tunnels was very convenient. This store is impressively large, offering a diverse range of products. However, the makeup section was slightly disappointing; I expected to find niche luxurious brands like Beauty Counter and Isoi, but they were not available. Despite this, I was intrigued by the art gallery located near the top floors, adding a unique cultural touch. Note that the art center and cafe on the top floor are exclusive to members, but even a brief glimpse was enticing. Definitely worth a visit for an upscale shopping experience combined with art...
