Tired of lager I sought-out Nao Brewery after seeing their logo on a glass of something that looked interesting on social media. So glad I did. I visited to pick-up a little selection of bottles to take away and was unexpectedly helped by a friendly member of staff who clearly knew her stuff.
The award winning 'Mucho' is great, but their NEIPA is very every-dayable! I'd love to come home to a fridge full of that after work. Unfortunately I'm leaving the island soon and baggage-allowance won't allow! If you're thinking of trying them out, don't think twice, they're good. Not just "Lanzarote-and-there's-not-really-competition-for-proper-beer" good, but actually good good. Beers that can stand-up against the best that beer-making nations...

We stayed for 3 rounds of beer and in that time I observed how others (Spanish) were given lovely olives and nuts to accompany their beers (I asked people and they were complimentary offerings) yet we were given nothing in our 90 minute stay. We got the clear impression she didn't want business from us British. Such a shame to be treated this way and I dont understand? :-( I have been before many times and been treated really well and with a smile. We always tip.... but not this time. Read moreAn absolutely lovely, cute little tap room in the back streets of Arrecife, well worth tracking down. Everything was perfect, including the lovely guy behind the bar, the music and even the food (the cheese was amazing ). It was really busy on a Tuesday night, with a mixture of craft-beer enthusiasts (like my partner) visiting Lanzarote, and some local regulars.
