A must visit. We stumbled upon this restaurant during our holiday to Arrecife, Lanzarote from the UK during a walk and very glad we did. Our visit was just as they had opened for lunch. The staff were very friendly and helpful, spoke and understood English well. The egg friend rice and yakisoba noodles were delicious, fresh and authentic. There weren’t enough prawns in the mixed tempura but nice enough. The ginger sauce had too much ginger for our taste but that’s just preference.
We then ordered again for dinner the next day via Uber Eats this time and the food arrived fresh and hot. I would recommend ordering via either if you are thinking about it, preferably within the restaurant but the Uber Eats experience was fine. They included chop sticks but cutlery would have been helpful...
Read moreGyoza as a starter was great. You could feel it was homemade. For the rest of the diner I had: karaage, yakitori and their so-called yakisoba. All three were awful. Tasteless, and wrongly done. I wonder how come a cook can prepare a yakisoba with “instant noodle” type of noodle nowadays? The karaage was oily, and it was missing the crispy mix it should have - to avoid. Now, the yakitori: chicken piece were big, but not marinated properly. The meat was plain and tasteless. A yakitori should be grilled on the charcoal, with the proper sauce and creates a layer on the chicken skin. Nothing like that here. I did not try the sushi and sashimi but from what I saw it looked fresh. Avoid the meal I mentioned above. Total bill 35€ including two teas. “Oishi” means tasty in Japanese....
Read moreThis restaurant charged me an additional 7% IGIC tax on my bill, which is illegal. It needs to be built into the price. I did not say anything, but if they do this, call them out on it and request an “hoja de reclamaciones” if they refuse to take it off the bill. They are legally required to give it to you if you request it, and you can complain.
This practice of adding the IGIC to the bill, and not building it into the price of the food, is a scam to get tourists to pay more. The food was pretty good, but I refuse to patronize a place that adds an illegal...
