Read moreXiringuito Escribà, perched on the scenic shores of Barcelona, presents a delightful dining experience, particularly for those in pursuit of authentic Spanish paella. While it may not reach the unparalleled heights of establishments like Can Ros, it certainly holds its own with a commendable offering that merits attention. The paella at Xiringuito Escribà is a flavorful homage to traditional Spanish culinary arts. Crafted with a meticulous eye for authenticity, the dish presents a generous assortment of seafood, nestled atop a bed of well-cooked rice. However, some may find the seasoning slightly on the saltier side, which, while enhancing the oceanic flavors, might not cater to all palates. This minor detraction does little to overshadow the overall quality but is worth noting for those with a more sensitive taste for salt. Pricing at Xiringuito Escribà is a notch above the average, likely a reflection of its prime beachfront location. The panoramic views of the Mediterranean provide a captivating backdrop to the dining experience, arguably justifying the premium. However, budget-conscious diners might find the cost a consideration, especially when comparing it to other notable venues in the city. Service at this establishment is competent, with staff members displaying a good level of professionalism and courtesy. While there is room for improvement in terms of responsiveness and attentiveness, the overall service quality does not detract significantly from the dining experience and remains within the bounds of acceptability for a restaurant of its standing. The Xiringuito offers a solid paella experience that is enhanced by its stunning location and the ambiance of dining by the sea. While it may have minor areas for refinement, particularly in seasoning balance and service, it remains a commendable choice for those seeking to enjoy one of Spain's most iconic dishes in a picturesque setting. It earns a solid 4 out of 5 rating, making it a worthy contender for a memorable meal in Barcelona, albeit with a few caveats...
Read moreIt was an average move. Not what we planned, but not supposed to be bad. We got late on our prime choice of restaurant, so we flipped back on this one. Reviews were not bad.
Maybe the had better time for those last reviews, but it did not stand out at all for us.
First encounter, we asked for sparkling water. Arrived flat. Then mentioned it and asked for replacement. Got another flat one. I nicely asked the waitress to bring s empty glass and filled it up with the water and asked her to taste it to see if it was sparkling.
She confirmed it was not sparkling and mentioned they had a problem the machine.
What a bad start for dinner when you realize they knew they had a problem, did not verify for your order, and delivered it wrong to your table not once, but twice, and waited for you to look awkward and make the call about… the water.
But don’t worry, the brought a bottle of Vichy sparkling water to replace, and charged us for the bottle!!!
The waitress was without any knowledge of the wine on the list. And the list was short. That I cannot understand and accept. Please, train your people on your menu and list wine. This is what you are selling. Is it asking too much, honestly.
We had Paella. Was not bad, but sincerely nothing noticeably “waw” at all. I know, this is my opinion, and I am on a bad foot now because of the wine issue and because of the water issue.
I am on a bad foot because you screwed up on on the strict and bear minimum anybody (maybe not) would expect in a restaurant.
Please, stop giving stars, high fives, etc. to just average restaurant. This is a average restaurant at most, with untrained personnel.
It is a shame, not for the waitress, but for management, not to train (read not train here) employees to lower than bare standards.
Not a good place, but an average one. That is all.
But lacking professionalism and respect towards...
