Xiroi — Restaurant in Barcelona

Avoid at all cost. Just had dinner here tonight. It was a good meal until we ordered for desserts. We ordered for their Joncake Cheese Cake since it was their “limited edition”. I was almost finished eating it when a MAGGOT crawled out of the remaining cheese cake!!!! Yes a MAGGOT! everyone in the kitchen including the servers were speechless on what they have seen. If only i could post the video in here with the maggot crawling i would. They seem to have called the manager and they waived the cheese cake that I ate and gave us a 10% discount!! Wow talk about cheap and insulting. We could definitely pay and i was not asking for any discount. But come one Xiroi!!! If we have food poisoning tomorrow would you pay for our bill? I would have made a scene but that would be inappropriate. We were told that the maggot may have fallen from somewhere because they have made the cheese cake “2 months” ago and have “frozen it”. We were also told that they have checked their whole cheese cake and there were no maggots. Come on Xiroi you cannot know unless you slice it into pieces…the maggot crawled out of the cheese cake! We started off by sitting down and giving our waitress our drink order. Waited 10 mins another waiter comes up and says has anyone helped us. We said yes placed order and he checked they cant find it. Then placed food and drink order. Asked to sub radish for potatoes took order came back said I can't do that. I said ok let's do something else he come back and said O we dont have that either even it is on the menu. Then we place our order. 30 mins late another waiter come up and asked have we had our order. We told him we never got appetizer or 1 of 2 dinners. He want back. Finally placed order. Asked for a Pepsi. Brings me out Pepsi max. I sucked it up and drank it. Ordered another Pepsi and said no Pepsi max. He said we ran out. Ok then why force Pepsi max on your customers. Then at end had to wait 30 mins for a bill after I called for the waiter as he walked by 5 times and never stopped can I please get my reciept. Then he finally gave it to me. I usually tip very well but 2nd time of my life I did not tip. Horrible customer service. No discount for mess up or atleast an apology. Probably one of the worst places we had dinner in Barcelona. The costumer service was dreadful. They served us the food and by accident throw the bottle of our beverage ( which is fine cause this kind of accidents can happen) they didn’t even offer us to replace the drink and we had to ask for it. There was a misunderstanding with our order and when the waitor came to explain us he was ironic and he did not even let us finish our sentence. When he left our table he was whispering something in Spanish clearly annoyed. The portions were tiny and not even tasty. We payed 13 Euro for a salad with just a really bad quality of tomato (10 slices) and 5 slices of sardines swimming in olive oil!!!! Growing up in a touristic Mediterranean island the only thing I have to say is that this is a typical example of a touristic restaurant approaching the costumers like “wallets with legs”.
