Marisqueria El Puerto — Restaurant in Benidorm

We choose this place to eat Paella, we where seated at one table, where given the menu and orderd drinks. Shorty after we where asked to change table due to some reservation (?). At the next table we got our drinks, but the ice was close to it's melting point so everything was watered down. We orderd food, a starter and a paella since the paella takes some time to prepare. Then we waited... allmost 50 minutes, and in the meantime we saw other companies be seated, served drinks and food. After out 50 minutes wait we got our starter... and Paella at the same time. The food was on the lower end of OK, nothing more, nothing less, but we didn't become full. After we ate it was time to pay the bill, so we asked for the waiter for the bill... and then we waited, allmost a good 10 minutes. We got our bill/check and we where charged for 2 breads that we hadn't recived. We saw the other tables got 2 pices of bread that seams to be on the house, but it isn't. So we complained that we where charged for the bread and the waiten went back to fix it, shorty after he came back and asked for our card. We doubbel checked the amount and they still tried to charge us for the bread that we hadn't recived. When the waited once again came back with the right check, the payment divice broke down. We had to wait another 15 minutes for them to fix the problem. We managed to pay we went for a walk (sadly) to burger king and ate until we where satified. We can not recomend this place at all, it's a total waste of money and...

Don’t usually post negative reviews, but this place thoroughly deserves one. Visited Wednesday 25th around 9pm the streets were bustling and really busy, as was the restaurant. Asked for a table for 4 and were seated in a hot sweaty restaurant. We were seated by a middle aged man who looked as though he was in charge. Asked what drinks we would like with no smile, felt very unwelcome, the same chap brought our drinks and literally slammed them onto the table. Our order was taken which was 2 T Bone steaks very well done- a salad and roast chicken breast chips and salad. The food arrived and immediately glancing at the salad could just tell it would be awful. The contents were sloppy, swimming in oil just pure disgusting. The chicken was 3 tiny fillets rather than a breast and one of them was inedible just the flattened vein from a chicken breast and again served with a sloppy salad… the 2 TBone steaks were brought and immediately cut to see pure red meat and not very well done as had been requested. We spoke with a young waiter and asked for them to be returned to the kitchen for further cooking. They brought them back after a few more minutes and initially it appeared that they were ok. Very fatty but then as we cut nearer the bone it was still red , also it now tasted of fish… maybe been slapped on an unclean grill for further cooking. At this point we all gave in and left the food, paid the €86 euro bill and left to go to Popeyes. Shame we didn’t read previous reviews beforehand!!!...

We went restaurant as a party of 6. We had a very busy day and were looking forward to something nice. We all ordered starters and mains. The problem is the food comes out at the same time so it is really not a starter. Other reviews say this happened to them too. We could deal with it with no issues and live with there not being room on table for starter and mains at same time so not a show stopper.

The problem was with the mains. Four of our party ordered the seafood paella and it was a huge disappointment. No one came out to ask us how was the food so we could not tell them how disappointed we were with this very poor paella. The issues were it was seafood paella with barely any seafood in it. There were like 3 prawns in a paella for two to share for example. The rice and whole paella was over cooked. On top of the it was very bland without any flavor. When the waiter finally came we told him how displeased we were with the paella and then we had to tell the same to the other staff as the couldn’t understand. We also showed the four mussels which didn’t open, there were on 6 in the dish. In the end a rude manager came and told us there was nothing wrong with it and it was to bad we didn’t like it. The four in our party who got the paella left very hungry and managed to get a burger up the road. On the good points the garlic prawns and garlic bread...
