BRASERIA Aurrera — Restaurant in Benidorm

We visited this restaurant with high hopes. We stated that we wanted to relax drink and order food over our duration of the stay, we told our waiter that we would be at the table for 2 hours minimum.We had a bottle of wine and seven beers with garlic prawn and bread to start. We wanted to order more food but felt rushed and hasseled to order more food quicker than we wanted. We spent £53.00 and Would have spent in excess of another £50.00 plus. We experienced a young waitress with a very bad attitude, actually slamming a beer on our table after taking 20 minutes to arrive. In our opinion the Chef took control and made a bad situation feel better. We decided to settle the bill and leave, such a shame that we weren't left to order food as and when we wanted, I thought that's the whole point of a tapas bar!

Avoid! Waiter that seated us barely said a word to us and came off as very rude. While cleaning out a table for us he put rubbish onto the table next to us while two people were sitting there! They must have forgotten about us as it took roughly 20-25 mins before they even took our order. We weren’t given a drinks menu. Eventually had to flag a waiter down to get our orders taken. Asked for medium rare steak and received a well done steak covered in too much fat which made it basically inedible. Boyfriend got a burger and the lettuce tasted old, majority of the bacon in it was fat. Very upset that we had to pay €50 for our meal altogether for such bad service and horrible food. If you want great food/great service/affordability go to Sherpa Thai instead only two...

The surroundings were lovely, traditional narrow allyway with tapas areas either side, apparently they are all the same restaurant. This gives the area a historic Spanish vibe.

When we walked through at midday it was thriving with locals. However when we returned around 1630 it was much quieter. The tapas we had, Croquettes, Squid and Prawns was in the case of the 2 former poor, slightly greasy and lacking in flavour although the prawns were lovely.

Maybe it was because it was the end of service but the food quality was nowhere near the price charged.

To be honest we've had better at other establishments this week for a better price. But all said and done it did provide that enclosed narrow ally...
