Today we visited the permanent exhibition at the Fundación Cristina de Vera along with a group of 20 young people from the BST (British) school. Although we had not booked in advance we were shown round by Karen who offered to give an impromptu talk to the students and explained some of the meanings behind these wonderful paintings by Cristina de Vera in the permanent exhibition in this beautiful old building. She then forwarded information to me about up and coming events which are being organized for school parties. Visito la Fundación Cristino de Vera con cierta frecuencia y la incluyo en mis paseos laguneros porque siempre pasan cosas muy interesantes: exposiciones temporales muy bien seleccionadas, conciertos, ciclos de conferencias y de cine, talleres no sólo infantiles, etc. Siempre me ha llamado la atención el hecho de como un espacio relativamente pequeño puede llevar a cabo tanta actividad. En los tiempos que corren la dirección ha apostado por su valor más preciado: la colección y fondos del pintor. Siempre me sorprende este extraordinario artista tan enigmático y cercano a la vez.
