I have frequented this market for an year now; can get all assortment of veggies / fruits / fish / meat / groceries / daily items.
Veggies: have normally shopped from the biggest counter and the counter immediate left to the parking entry. Have been satisfied with the quality and variety. A tad pricy in comparison to Narahenpitha Economic Centre. However, I choose to continue with the same.
Fruits: I do buy from the shop to the extreme end of the 1st floor. They allow me choose right from the crates - however, again a tad pricy in comparison to Narahenpitha Economic Centre.
Fish: I buy from the first shop on the 2nd floor from the immediate staircase from the parking. Never had an issue with sea 🐟, prawns and pomfrets have been good. However, had an uneven experience with River Fish (Rohu / Katla); have had to throw them twice. Costly as well.
Chicken: will always prefer Narahenpitha Economic Centre as there's a huge price gap. I prefer only the leg & thigh pieces & there's 200/kg price gap.
Groceries: frequent the Beemas shop on the third floor. Does have more or less a good variety of Indian items; however can get at a cheaper cost at Pettah (Saravanas etc)
Overall, I do tend to visit as you can get most of the daily requirement under one roof - but have to have a check on...
Read moreIt's a nice market to buy some fruits and vegetables and red chili, not the best and cleanest market here, but at least it got what I want, many shop I pass seems friendly and trying to offer their goods I was trying to buy with one of the shop that I previously visit but did not buy and thinking maybe I try to get some from them. But the staff of this shop is very rude and if you are slow thinker, don't buy here.
I was just browsing his goods and thinking that "do I need something else? Is there anything I need to buy while I'm here?" So I choose the item carefully, buy the chili and then thinking "maybe I need tomato", am I wrong to think is way? He directly expressing his frustration in my face saying "don't buy one pieces again and again, slowly slowly because he doesn't have all the time in the world, this is not a President election that you need to think slowly" :D, sorry for my Indecisiveness, don't worry I won't buy here again.
Experience vary from person to person, this happens in the morning, maybe he is still sleepy or something that he wants to quickly go home to...
