One Galle Face Mall — Attraction in Colombo

⭐️ 1-Star Review: A Disappointing First Visit to One Galle Face Mall On 02/07/2025, my husband and I visited One Galle Face Mall for the first time to watch Rebirth of Jurassic World 2025 at the PVR cinema. Unfortunately, the experience was far from pleasant and left us extremely disappointed.

We arrived around 7:10 PM, using Google Maps, which directed us to the car park entrance. We passed the initial checkpoint, where security checked our car and let us in. However, finding a parking spot was unnecessarily complicated. The signboards inside were confusing, some areas were blocked, and there were very few security staff available to assist. After several minutes, we finally found a spot and rushed to the cinema, as the movie was starting at 7:30 PM.

We’ve visited malls like Colombo City Center and Havelock City Mall, and in comparison, this felt poorly organized—almost like the old Majestic City setup.

At the cinema, we stood in line to buy snacks and were shocked at the excessive prices. A small burger was over Rs. 3,500, so most of the crowd—including us—settled for the basic cheese popcorn. Pricing something that high might reflect OGF’s standard, but if the food doesn’t move, it’s worth reconsidering.

Things got worse inside the theater. The seats were unclean, sticky, and had leftover food and Pepsi cans from the previous show. It was clear the staff had not cleaned or prepared the space properly for new guests. It was genuinely unhygienic and unpleasant.

After the movie, we used the washroom and went to exit the premises. Following the signboards, we encountered more confusion—barriers blocked the path, and we saw several other vehicles circling around just like us, trying to find the way out. Eventually, someone asked a nearby staff member, who simply said, "Go straight"—which wasn't marked clearly anywhere.

At the exit gate, long queues at the self-service kiosks led us to pay the guard directly. The parking rate clearly said Rs. 200 per hour, and we had only stayed just under 3 hours. Yet, we were charged Rs. 800. When we asked why, the guard said the machine charged us for 4 hours and refused to provide any further explanation. This felt unfair and careless. For reference, our vehicle number is KD3547—we urge management to verify the times.

Final Verdict: This was our first and last visit to One Galle Face Mall. Between the disorganized parking, insanely priced food, unclean cinema, and unfair parking charges, this was a very poor experience. The lack of clear signage, unhelpful staff, and dismissive attitude sealed the deal.

We’ll continue to visit Colombo City Center and Havelock City Mall, where we’ve consistently received better service and a cleaner, more professional experience.

Underground - The Food court is situated here, Thalappakatti, Twister, China Express, Sumatran Spice, Jeewa's, The Mango Tree, Shiok, Cheese Heads, Tokyo Shokudo, Suksamran Thai, Franchises like Pizza Hut, WAFL, Manhattan Fish Market and KFC, to familiar faces like Mitsi's Delicacies, Whight & Co., BreadTalk, David's Dangerously Delicious Char Siu, and Delifrance. We also spotted the stalls by Rancrisp Cashews, Gourmet Lanka, and Miniso too. This area also extends to a giant Keells Super branch.

Floor 1 - Clothing stores, High end Watch stores, Jewelry stores and some Electronic stores can be found here. Calvin Klein, Charles and Keith, Tommy Hilfiger, Diesel, Armani, Rolex, Parker, Omega, Longines, Chatham, Tissot,Tag Heuer, Furla, Furla, Abans, Samsung and many more.

Floor 2 - Assortment of clothing stores like Sona Mandhir, Exhibit, Jia Moda, Tribe, Jezza, Linen and I, Avirate, Coco, Raspberry, Firefly, Hameedia, some tea stores along with many other stores.

Floor 3 - Contains many sports store along with Stationaries, Electronics and Hairdressers. ProGolf, Adidas, Puma, Nike, Reebok, D-Blaq, US Polo Assn, Arrow and Live, Kicking, Tuxedo Ceylon, Unik Creations, Midaya, The Pottery Shop, iStudio, Huawei, BC -Nails and Lifestyle, Christelle Cutting Station and some other stores.

Floor 4 - Has stores like Sidhdhalepa, stores selling cinnamon, candy stores and fast food outlets, Candy Crush store, McDonald's, an entire play area with Bumper Cars, Cozy Linen, Light and Shade, Ximi Vogue, Home Lux, Mothercare, Babycare, Glitz Kids, Belly Bees, Catchme.lk, The Toy Store!, Adventure Zone available for children, and some other cafes.

Floor 5 - An assortment of all sorts of miscellaneous things can be found here, From paintings to plants, action figures (Collectique) to fancy underwear (Club House Vivaldi) and funky socks (Maze), gyms to jewellers, Training Yard, Lanka Hospitals branch is opening soon, an arcade, Dialog and Mobitel are also here, along with places like DineMore, Pasta Mania, Nut House, Ceylon Bee Honey, Chesma's Cookies and Mong Kok Chinese Restaurant and finally Doctor mobile to repair your phones.

Floor 6 - PVR, a 9 Screen Multiplex Cinema takes up most of the space here along with some food stores like British Pub, A Minute by TukTuk Colombo, TGIF, Oriental Gourmet with a great view.
