We have been on better excursions for a much more reasonable price. The other excursions also included lunch and service on the boat and at stops. There is one employee on this tour. He drives the boat and does paperwork, nothing else. The incessant reminding of leaving 20% gratuity borders on comical. The customer service department is non existent. While on the tour with our young sons, I took out two items of sunscreen to put in the bag that I carried at the tour stops. The rest (~$100) was left on the boat so that I didn’t forget the bag of sunscreen at one of the stops. When we arrived at US customs, our boat driver/guide explained multiple times that after we left the boat and entered the customs building, we could not go back to the boat or tip him his 20% gratuity. We realized after clearing customs that the bag of multiple sunscreen items (many unopened and our entire supply for this trip) was left on the boat. We called the day after when we had a signal and during what we thought would be office hours. Rather than say, “I will look for it”, the office employee insinuated that we left it somewhere else and that maybe we lost it because we had drank too much. After I emailed about the attitude my husband had received in asking for them to check the boat, I received texts and an email with continued attitude ie “you can inspect the boat yourself” or “our office hours are 0530-2000, why didn’t you notify us earlier?!” (none of which is posted anywhere on the website) and my favorite “I’ve allowed people to get back on the boat after clearing customs” (maybe correct your tour guide’s guidance then). My assumption is that our bag walked with an employee or was thrown away (an assumption made due to the attitude that was expressed by the office staff). I grew up working in my family’s hospitality business. I also work in healthcare and occasionally am required to explain to patients why it was necessary for me to cancel their surgery. Attitude and courtesy go a long way. This was absent. We will be visiting St. John again. We also have friends and coworkers visiting this year. I will not recommend this tour company. There are other options at a more reasonable price and I’m sure better...
Read moreCircle St. John & Food boat tour: We had Tyler as a captain and the first mate was Heather. Both of them were absolutely fantastic. Heather was very knowledgeable of the area and Tyler was former Coast guard so I felt very comfortable that we would be safe with him driving the boat. Heather was extremely attentive to our needs… filled up our drinks frequently and anticipated things like that our feet might get warm from the sun (she would put water over them which was honestly magical). She covered up our seats when we were out in the water to make sure we weren’t sitting on hot seats when we got back….. it was a zillion little things. Highly recommend them!!! Please request them when you do your booking!!!
Lime Out: Absolutely fantastic tacos!!!!! The staff at Lime Out were super sweet and it was such a fun experience.
Christmas Cove Snorkeling: Absolutely amazing. We saw 5 turtles, stingrays and there was a shipwreck where we saw so many incredible fish. Perfection!!
Pizza Pi: honestly mind blown that pizza on a boat could come out so great. They ordered plenty so we definitely got our fill of pizza.
Lovango: very cool history that Tyler shared with us ( really loved that story). We had the option to snorkel but the current looked a bit strong so everyone chose to go to the resort. The dinghy driver Rachel was so sweet and took us to the dock and took us back when we were ready. We loved the bartenders there. Very attentive and really good at what they do. In full honesty though I think in hindsight I would rather a beach stop or just a swim stop or more snorkeling in a more protected cove than to stop here. After a long day of being in the sun and snorkeling I felt a bit rough to be at such a fancy resort. That’s just me though. Absolutely not the fault of anyone on the boat….. I knew the itinerary ahead of time. And we did enjoy taking pictures from the resort and we did enjoy a beverage but we kind of felt like we were just killing time before heading back to the boat. I think a beach/swim stop would’ve been the more ideal itinerary for...
Read moreA Perfect Day in Paradise – Unforgettable Boat Trip to Jost Van Dyke!
From the moment we stepped aboard, our experience with Maeve and Cornelius was nothing short of extraordinary. Every detail—from the warm welcome to the crystal-clear Caribbean waters beneath us—was flawlessly executed. If you're looking for the ultimate way to explore the BVI, Stormy Pirates is it!
The journey to Jost Van Dyke was scenic, with breathtaking views of surrounding islands and info that only experienced crews seem to know about. The boat was immaculate, comfortable, and well-equipped with everything we needed—refreshing drinks, snorkeling gear, and a sound system to set the perfect tropical vibe.
Once we arrived at Jost, we were given plenty of time for breakfast at Christines, a chat with Foxy and some light hearted banter with Pizza Dave over the best bloody mary in BVI at Cosairs. Diamond Cay provided a perfect dose of natural beauty to explore and White Bay, was extordinarily welcoming. Swimming ashore through the turquoise waters felt like a scene from a postcard. The beach is vibrant yet relaxed, and We were welcomed with hugs by Loy at Coco Loco.
Maeve and Cornelius were incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and clearly passionate about what they do. They struck the perfect balance between professionalism and making us feel like longtime friends. We learned fun facts about the islands, got great tips on local spots were they were on a first name basis with business owners at every stop.
Whether you’re celebrating something special or just craving a perfect Caribbean escape, Stormy Pirates delivers a 10/10 experience. Jost Van Dyke stole a piece of our hearts, and we couldn’t have asked for a better way to discover its magic.
If I had one suggestion about this trip, it would be to stay at White Bay longer and cut out Norman Island and Willie T's (they deserve fewer than one star....you can see my review on google as well).
Can’t wait to book again—this is what...
