I completely forgot to post a review for this place. We visited in October 2024, so please note that the prices in the pictures may have changed by now. Even though this is over half a year late, I still want to share how wonderful our experience was.
First of all, this store is open 24/7—a huge plus since we could stop by after a long day of trekking through the city. No matter how late it was, they were still open and not too crowded. If only the food places inside the building, like McDonald’s, were also open, it would’ve been heaven. But that’s beside the point.
The best part? This store has everything (almost!)—a paradise for tourists and locals alike.
Need a USB thumb drive because your phone is full of photos? Tore your shoes after hiking Elephant Mountain? Want soy milk at better-than-convenience-store prices? Or maybe fresh tofu and live hairy crabs to cook back at your inn? They’ve got you covered!
Just a note: IT products come at a premium here (understandably, since it’s not their specialty), but they’re available in a pinch.
We even did our last-minute souvenir shopping here for friends and family back home.
Pro tip: Download the Klook app! You can buy discounted tickets for tourist attractions and Carrefour cash vouchers at a discount. I saved a ton by paying with vouchers instead of cash—and checkout was faster than counting bills (they just scan the barcode!).
We love this store. Their produce is fresh, and they often have...

Read moreThis was one of the only large supermarkets I found whilet travelling around the country. Grocery items were quite expensive compared to alternative food retailers and none food products were very inconsistent in terms of quality. I'm sure if Carrefour (France) came to ordidt the legitimacy of some of the sportswear sold in this store, they would be concerned with the amount of knock off items being sold under there store / brand name. I would guess that Carrefour just franchise out their name and supply their own FMCG branded goods to the store. They should probably take a closer look at what else is being sold alongside their items and under their global brand name. I would say that looking at the legitimacy of what was being sold in this store, is potentially quite damaging to the Carrefour brand...
