Read moreHorrific experience. I’m not sure how this place is still open. If I could give zero stars I would. Just look at the AI overview of this place if you have any hope that this place is worth your time. I rarely write reviews but this place was so unsettling it felt morally wrong to not warn future customers. Putting aside the arrogant and careless nature of the staff, the turtles were absolutely feral. My friend stepped into the water for 30 seconds and was immediately bitten on her thigh. The way these turtles behaved was unnerving. They were climbing all over each other, clearly desperate to get out of the small sewage smelling pool they’re confined in. They claim they let them go out into the wild eventually, which is probably when they become too animalistic to expose to customers. They also admitted they take their eggs off the beach before they leave their sack. I’m not surprised these poor creatures act out, I would too if I was trapped like that. Oh, and the staff’s solution to treat my friend’s wound? Just rub some mouth wash on it. I’m ashamed I paid for something so unethical. Save...
Read moreI am not one to normally leave reviews, but I feel this is necessary as an animal lover. This visit with turtles was suggested by our tour guide, we didn’t give it much thought as eveything else on our trip had been safe and fun. Upon arrival no real rules were given, we were rushed into the water and told what to do instead of enjoying our time and staying where we were comfortable. Both my mom and I were then bitten and left bleeding. They giggled and told us it was a “kiss” from the turtles and acted like it was no big deal. They wiped the wound with alcohol, told us we won’t “die” and sent us on our way.
After reading reviews we have learned it is not uncommon at all to be bitten by these animals here, they are stressed out and overcrowded. We read a review from a local saying this is a fake conservation and they capture healthy turtles claiming to “help them” which I fully believe. I am very disappointed to have been a contribution to this organization and do...
