This is one of the coolest places I have visited for a long time. The name Kalm is probably the most appropriate name although it is not spelled as "calm". You really feel that this is a place where you can relax either wandering through the tastefully and beautifully decorated display/exhibition areas or sitting somewhere outside or reading a book in the library (above the café). There are one or two shops, a restaurant, and a café (very good coffee). The library has very interesting books and you can spend hours going through the books and other items or reading one or two books. The building itself is an artwork built with grey bricks and up-cycled teak wood. The brick walls has a very unique building design (not a straight wall) which impressed me very much. I also had the opportunity to visit the unique exhibition "Songs of My Soul" by the artist Kachama Perez. Really amazing story. The staff members are very friendly and helpful. I was surprised when I was told that entry is free.

If you’re looking for a relaxing meditation and yoga class, look no further than Ka’s class here at Kalm Village!!! The group and I were led through a wonderful sunset yoga routine, and breath work that was very pleasing for the mind, body and soul👹. The mindfulness exercises that we went through reminded me of when Napoleon Hill was being influenced by the negative energy brought about by his fears and worries. Napoleon then, suddenly, got in touch with his “other self” and began instinctively taking all the steps necessary to bring him out of the slump that he was falling into. “Outwitting the Devil”, the masterpiece that he wrote, goes into depth on the techniques used to keep negative energy away from your mindset, leading to inevitable success.

Kalm Village Chiangmai was the biggest surprise for me as a tourist who likes urban tourism. The place hides exceptional architecture, community art, a cafe with a library, a restaurant, and stylish shops. Entry is free. If you want to stop and relax in Chiang Mai, this is the place. If you need to work or read, a cafe with a library or the central zone offers a pleasant environment and stable internet. I fell in love with shirts in stores. The restaurant cooks perfectly and the cafe does not disappoint. Disadvantages: - in one of the shops you were completely ignored. - If you come at lunchtime, you will wait 45 minutes for food, like me.

This was a chance find for me as I was on my way elsewhere. But what a lovely place, and free to enter. The "Village" is made up of Craft Exhibition area as well as several shops where you can buy locally produced clothing and other products. It was very interesting to learn about the old techniques of Jajam printing and the efforts being made to revive this art form. There is a lift to the top floor if you don't want to use the stairs. I recommend going up to the top for the fine views across the town to the mountains beyond. You can just see the Temple at Doi Suthep gleaming in the distance.

One of my favorite places I visited in Chiang Mai. The library had beanbags you could lie down on while reading. I found a fascinating book about Cambodian textiles. The natural light filled each room, and we visited the cafe as well to get some tea. There was a cute little nook outside of the cafe in the back, full of plants and a little alleyway. The space felt queer-friendly, and people around were kind and generous. If I lived in Chiang Mai, I just know I’d come to this cultural center often. I’d love to check out other parts of it. There was also a sweet little cat sitting outside.
