Sense Massage Somphet — Attraction in Chiang Mai Province

I traveled around Thailand for two months. I wasn’t traveling on a budget, so, I wasn’t choosing my experiences based on price, therefore, I got to have all kind of experiences as well as massages. When it comes to the actual experience of the massage, Sense Massage Somphet was the best one I tried in Chiang Mai (I spent 9 days there)!!

Why I enjoyed Sense Massage Somohet:

The facilities are clean!! This is very important for me, otherwise I can’t relax

The rooms are private and very spacious; meaning that it’s an actual room. Other places just divide spaces with curtains

The rooms have two beds, so, if you come with your partner, you can be in the same room

I went three times, and the three times I asked to have Soi, she was amazing!! I’m from Canada, and it’s common to have massages, therefore, I’ve tried several RMT’s (registered massage therapists) in my life, let’s say that I’m not new to massages and I was very happy with Soi’s knowledge and care!! She made me feel that she really cared about me. I wish I could take her home!! Lol! That’s how good she was!

The rooms have their own washroom to get changed and shower before/after if you like

The prices are very competitive compared to other places, and incredibly cheap if you convert it to dollars!!! I pay almos 10 times more back home (Vancouver)!! 😅

In general, it’s crazy good value for your money; clean, super friendly, and professional. The cleanliness and privacy are non negotiable for me to be able to relax, and you’ll get it here.

Just keep in mind that this is not an SPA, it’s a massage center; there aren’t hot tubs or steam rooms in case you want that.

A hit or miss massage place. One of the managers is super friendly and welcoming (I only like to go when she's there, the whole vibe of the settlement is much better when she's around), the other is kinda grumpy and gives off bad mojo. Been here over 30 times; a few times I stopped the massage due to irrecoverable annoyance, paid and walked out early. A few times I had to ask for a different massage therapist due to the massage being underwhelming and the technique being wrong, luckily most times were great (after some instructions were given)! Sense is the place I go for a more relaxing type of massage, for a real Thai fix-you-upper massage I go to Hattip; they always know how to fix my office-syndrome complaints - whereas Sense usually does not and is only relaxing.

**Just ask for a different massage style if you don't enjoy the one you're receiving or ask for a different therapist.

Before using oil/tiger balm, ask the client if it's okay. Maybe the client doesn't want it.

Ask if the client has any remarks to make before the massage is booked and starts. Show some interest and care in your client.

I see many people rated as one of the best in town so I decided to give a try. This is only my personal experience and a true one. I called to make appointment arrived on time. Receptionist guy was ok and cold.I told my therapist that I felt my arm is a bit sore so as my right side leg . In between I mentioned again when she massaged my arm, I hope she can emphasise on my arm but she said time is not enough, what I mean is to just give more attention on this two parts within one hour treatment. She does not seem interested so I didn’t mention again. The whole massage was a very soft one , from my experience of Thai massage it’s just not that good. I can say it’s one of the few massage I had in thailand which is useless. After I finished, receptionist gave me a drink, I had to ask what drink is that. Again he is cold. I decided I will not come back ever again. For many years I came to Thailand, massage is a must, so I had many experiences. I often found that most of my random walk in massages were the best ones.
