This restaurant is located in the heart of the Walking Street in Koh Lipe. Although it is not what you call a typical Thai restaurant as it offers Western food as well, I went there 3 times during my stay, and I did like it very much. I tried their tofu pad Thai, and it was lovely. Also had the tacos and the summer spring rolls with tofu and peanut sauce. Yum! When it comes to drinks, I loved their strawberry basil soda drink, made it with fresh strawberry, lime, and basil. They make it with mango and passion fruit as well. You can also enjoy, as in any restaurant, their local beer Singha (love it), Le, or Chang at a reasonable price compared to other alcohol drinks. And a highlight for all my vegan followers, it is the only place I found where I could have cappuccino with plant base milk (soya, oats, and coconut). The place it is quite nice, the front bar is a long tail boat and they have air conditioning which it is much needed on this island.

UPDATE: I came back 2 years later, and I am over the moon with this restaurant. I ate there mostly every. They have a gorgeous yoghourt with fruit and granola and fluffy pancakes for breakfast. My husband also tried one of their tacos he really enjoyed it. The shrimp pad Thai was my go for dinner cause it is delicious, and I am still obsessed with their strawberry basil soda. I highly recommend their passion fruit cheesecake and brownie. They are yummy 😋!!! Lastly, I adore the team ❤️ such a beautiful bunch of people who welcome me and my husband every day with big smiles. They are fantastic and I feel sad I won't see them for a while. Thank you guys you are...
Read moreVisited this spot twice during our stay, curious about the hype and while there are some highlights, the overall experience didn’t quite live up to expectations.
On day one, we ordered the avocado toast (THB 220) and hummus with home-made pita bread (THB 180). The avocado toast was tasty, but the portion? Just one single toast. For the price, it felt more like a snack than a meal. On the other hand, the hummus and pita were delicious and came in a much more reasonable portion.
The next day we tried the chicken wrap with pesto. Sadly, the pesto was barely detectable, if it was there at all and the wrap itself was probably the smallest we’ve ever been served in our many years of traveling the world. No fries, no sauce, no sides... just three thin watermelon slices as garnish. A bit underwhelming for a full meal.
Credit where it’s due: the espresso was genuinely excellent, and they accept card payments without tacking on illegal surcharges, which is a rarity in Thailand. The interior design is also a plus: stylish, relaxed, and clearly put together with care. The vibe is great, but unfortunately it’s not enough to justify the buzz surrounding the place.
Final verdict? A solid three stars out of five, just like the three slices of watermelon on our...
Read moreElephant is one of our favorite places on Lipe. The staff, the food, the atmosphere make it a great place to come at any time of day. Every time we are on Lipe we eat here numerous times. The staff are friendly, fun and really helpful while being efficient and making you feel welcome. The menu offers so many options to choose from including keto, vegan and even caters to gluten free. The food is consistently good, the flavors are always spot on and the quality of ingredients shows. The portions are also big and you could easily share to sample more. Highly recommend any of the burgers, hangover salad, big breakfast, choco-nana smoothie bowl, lattes, the backpacker bowls and passionfruit refresher. We took advantage of the delivery this time and it is a fantastic option if you don't feel like a walk. Everything is recyclable and the food is...
