6 Nights of dissapointments Upon arrrival the lady at the reception area is unwelcoming and do not know how to greet a guest who came a long way for their much awaited vacation, she seems amgry and the first thing she said was " Check in here, can I have your passport, breakfast is here make your coffee by yourself here" You will feel that she is not happy that she has to work. She showed us our room, we were greeted by a musty old smell of the room, mouldy and feels weird. She pointed at our key and left. No more words. Breakfast- if you will book here which I dont recommend, do not book with breakfast its TERRIBLE. Save yourself and get breakfast at the walking street. I once ordered an omelet, it was a scrambled egg rolled nothing inside, a chicken rice porridge that was bland. In my opinion, breakfast is what sets the tone of the day, and it doesnt have to be a 5 star meal, just something that shows "service". We dont feel we are on a holiday. On our 3rd day, my partner step foot on the wooden platform upon entering our room and it broke, he feel on his foot on the wooden hole witnessed by 3 staffs who were currently cleaning our room and none of them reacted,as if its a normal thing to happen with their guest. One lady came qith a first aid kit but she dont know what to do. NO ONE APOLOGIZED FROM THE MANAGEMENT. My partner's whole leg was bruised and turned green. Of course they dont care. I dont know if its normal but we find it weird that the staff dont greet their guest, in my 7 mornings here nobody even said "goodmorning" or even smiled at us. We are always the one greeting them and get nothing in return, they dont reply too. The staff were cold and unpolite, looks like they dont want guests in here so they dont have to work. Most of the time they are hanging out at the bar, with their phones or sleeping while the beach beds are dirty and the umbrellas are not prepared. Not even offer a towel if you are in the beach bed which drips water when you sit on it because the leather cover is damaged so expect to be wet. Room amenities are old, 2 showers but the other one doesn't have hot water. Bed sheets were changed every 2 days. Lots of mosquito in the room, we had 2 frogs too inside.
The only nice thing we experienced here is the driver who picked us up in the Pier, even he doesnt speak english you know he is trying his best. A place could be nice but with unwelcoming staff it could be a nightmare....

What I like: It's located not far from walking street (10 minutes walk). It means no terrible noise at night. I can call this place calm. Good for holiday The beach is great. You can swim and see marine life plus coral just in front of the resort. Check my picture. It really nice. Few breakfast several selection for you to order (healthy, american, fried rice). The taste not so great but it is typical breakfast. BUT, the 'cafe' is so nice. Under big trees in front of beach. I love that. The room is superb. Big and clean. Feel like a home in paradise, this is what we call vacation. The staffs wait us at pier and help carry our luggage to the resort. We been served with ginger tea upon arrival. The staff friendly and helpful when I ask something. I read review said they're unwelcoming guest but it not happen to us. Price is OK and reasonable. Make sure you book from their official website. Massage in front of the beach. I never try that but it's convenient.
What I think can be improved: The toilet or washroom. They have big washroom but it's almost feel empty. Just a toilet bowl, shower and sink. It feel like cheap hotel. Lot of mosquitoes after 7pm. This is not Mali Resort issue, this Koh Lipe issue. The whole place surrounded with them! The bar close after 10pm. I ask for coke, they don't have it. You think everybody want beer? Maybe next vacation if i stay here, you can have small road at the back for taxi to come fetch us. Currently, need to walk up a bit. Scary at night.
Thing I don't like: Hot shower. If I pulled hot water, it's too hot. If I pulled hot water and cold water, I feel cold. There is not way I can balance the temperature. On my last day, there is no water at all for entire resort. I have boat to catch at 9:30am, luckily the water back around 8:45am.
Room tip: Try not to stay in front cafe. You pay to stay in front of sea but you can't even open your curtain because people...
Read moreWe were met at the pier by one of the hotel team members who carted our luggage all the way to the hotel.||||Check-in was a bit odd as there is no front desk so everything is done at the bar.||Our unit was at the very back of the resort, backing the kitchen which was very noisy first thing in the morning and woke us up every morning. It's definitely dated and could use some updating. The mini fridge in the unit worked but was literally falling apart and we had a mess of rusty water a few times. Safe in the room didn't work for us.||||Tons of mosquitoes early morning and at dusk so make sure to bring or purchase good repellent and the coils for the front deck area if you plan to sit outside.||||No pool but the snorkeling right out front of the resort was really good when we were there. We were told by the owner that throughout the year the visibility and water will change, so although we had perfect water, it won't necessarily be like that in a few months. Some of the fish are a bit aggressive so careful of that. One bit me hard enough that it broke the skin surface and I was bleeding.||||The beach chairs were nice as well but get taken up pretty quickly. Beach towels were available at the bar.||||The free breakfast was ok but the coffee was often only lukewarm. Tons of flies flying around the bar area so best to try and get a table nearby to eat at. We had lunch a couple times from the resort and it was pretty good. They brought it right to our table on the beach.||||Main busy area isn't too far of a walk down the beach. Out of the 7 islands we visited in Thailand, Lipe was the most unfriendly we found as well as the...
