Spacious and private couple’s spa room with a jacuzzi and a nice review view in a newly renovated and rebranded spa.
I have tried many spas in luxury or premium hotels in Bangkok that have male therapists, such as the Sukhothai, St. Regis, Mandarin Oriental, Capella, SO Bangkok, and Grand Hyatt. Most hotels do not have a spa with male therapists, so I was surprised to learn that Heavena Wellness & Spa at Ramada Plaza, Menam Riverside has male therapists. I appreciate Khun Foam, the manager at the spa, who invited me to try out this spa in their VIP room. The spa is very spacious and situated inside a hotel by the river. The hotel is a premium hotel with easygoing vibes and ample parking.
This spa was recently renovated in 2023 and rebranded as a new spa. The decorations and service are as nice as the other premium and luxury spas. I was able to see different treatment rooms, and I recommend those that have a river-facing view. It is very relaxing. The VIP room that I was invited to try out was a spa room with two treatment tables, a Jacuzzi, a private shower, a toilet, and a steam room. They have only one VIP room, so it is very important to book ahead. The room also has a very nice river view.
As for the treatment, I had a body scrub and their Signature aroma oil body massage. The massage table was very comfortable, and I could lay my face down on its soft cushion. I had Khun Bell as my therapist, and he did a decent job. Their signature massage combines a little bit of Thai techniques with regular aroma massage routines. Khun Bell applied the right amount of pressure and deep enough to be very relaxing. The highlight of the overall treatment was the Jacuzzi and the steam room. It was relaxing to look out at the river view from the Jacuzzi. It is a perfect spot for a romantic couple's treatment.
The VIP room package is priced at 3,900 THB for a single person and 7,500 THB for a couple. It includes a 3-hour body scrub, aroma massage, wrap, bath, and steam. Their other regular services include a 90-minute aroma massage priced at 2,100 THB, or a 90-minute aroma massage with a 30-minute body scrub priced at 2,550 THB. These prices are all current promotional prices.
I also appreciate the nice little touches they provide, such as a special welcome drink, a Thai dessert dish, and an ice cream served with hot tea at the end of the treatment. I had a great experience and enjoyed...
Read moreI had high expectations for Heavena Wellness & Spa given its reputation, but my experience was disappointing and far from exceptional. I opted for both the hot stone massage and algae body scrub, and unfortunately, neither met the standard I anticipated for the premium prices charged.
Starting with the algae body scrub, it felt more like someone applying cream on my skin rather than an actual exfoliating treatment. While I understand it's not supposed to be a deep scrub, the quality was lackluster, especially at a price point of 4,000 Baht. To make matters worse, they used a white cream instead of the advertised green algae scrub. When I questioned this, I was told they had run out of the product and substituted it without informing me beforehand. This is completely unacceptable for a high-end spa. The manager avoided accountability, choosing to hide behind the desk rather than address my concerns properly. Their lack of apology or attempt to resolve the issue made it evident they were more focused on securing a sale than ensuring customer satisfaction. If I had more time, I would have demanded a refund.
The hot stone massage was equally disappointing. Despite repeatedly asking for more pressure and even using a translator, the therapist barely adjusted her technique. Worse, she gave me unpleasant looks whenever I tried to communicate my needs. I specifically requested the session to focus on my feet, shoulders, and lower back, but the therapist decided to spend an unnecessary amount of time on my scalp instead.
Additionally, the therapist nearly burnt me three times with the hot stones. Although she apologised each time, the fact that it happened repeatedly shows a complete lack of attention and care. This is not the level of professionalism or safety one would expect from a spa charging such premium prices. I have nothing against older therapists—they are often more experienced and capable—but this therapist showed no effort or regard for the service she was providing.
In total, I spent 7,700 Baht on these two subpar treatments, only to leave feeling scammed and dissatisfied. The manager's clear focus on making a sale, rather than ensuring a quality experience, was the most disappointing aspect. I strongly advise avoiding this place and visiting a proper spa instead. Read moreI am updating my review having visited this place for the fifth time. I have been to many spas in Thailand, cheaper and more expensive, and this one is the best in my opinion. Firstly, they really know what hospitality is here. From the meeting to the departure, you will be treated with the utmost attention. Wonderful people work at the reception. Secondly, for my taste, this is the best massage. I had therapists Na and Aor, and both of them were above all praise. It was like they knew where my most painful areas were because they focused on them, and it was amazing! I really relaxed and my back started to feel better. Thirdly, there is a very good selection of programs here, there is an excellent program for couples with a bath, a must for those who like real relaxation. Finally, there is always an extremely impressive serving of ice cream with very tasty tea. Overall, thank you very much, I will definitely come...
