“Sen Piyer Han 1771'de Sultan III. Mustafa (s. 1757-1774) zamanında Bab-ı Ali'de Fransız Büyükelçisi, Kont de Saint Priest tarafından, vasiyetinde belirtildiğine göre "Fransız halkının evi ve bankası" olarak yaptırılmıştı. Binanın yan cephesindeki levhalarda Kont de Saint Priest'in ve sokağa çıkıntı yapan cephedeki levhada Bourbonların armaları vardır. Cephedeki daha yüksekçe üçüncü bir levhada hanın Fransız şair Andre Chenier'nin 30 Ekim 1762'de doğduğu evin arazisine yapıldığı yazar. Chenier henüz üç yaşındayken ailesiyle Galata'dan ayrılmış ve kısa hayatının kalanını, çağın en iyi şairi şöhretini kazandığı Fransa'da geçirmiştir. 25 Temmuz 1794'te, onu kurtarabilecek 9 Thermidor"'dan iki gün önce giyotinle idam edilmiş, son sözleri -eliyle kafasını göstererek- " Bunun içinde bir şeyler olabilirdi" olmuştu. Chenier'nin etkileyici bir dizesi çocukluğunun Galata'sına duyduğu özlemi ifade eder: " Galata, gözlerim uzun zamandır seni arzular...” (Brendan Freely, John Freely - Galata, Pera, Beyoğlu: Bir Biyografi, Yapı Kredi Yayınları) . Osmanlı Bankası’sının 1890 yılında St. Pierrre Han’dan ayrılmasının ardından ünlü mimarlar bu hana yerleşmeye başlmış. 1894’te Antoine N. Perpignani St. Pierre Hanında ilk mimarlık bürosunu açmıştır. 1905’ten başlayarak Marco G. Langas, Giulio Mongeri ve Edouard De Nari ile aynı odaları paylaşmıştır. St. Antuan Katolik Kilisesi, St. Antuan Apartmanı, Kamonda Malikanesi, Karaköy Postane Binası, Karagözoğlu Apartmanı, Hanif Han bu mimarların elinden çıkan görkemli Beyoğlu...

Le han Saint-Pierre a été construit en 1770 à l'intersection de la rue des banques et de la rue "Eski Banker", lieux historiques parmi les plus importantes d'Istanbul. Le Comte de St. Priest, ambassadeur de France, qui a fait ériger ce lieu a vu naître le poète André Chenier devenu célèbre en France pendant la Révolution française. Des armoiries génoises se trouvent sur la façade du bâtiment. Ces dernières années, le lieu a notamment abrité des ateliers de travail des métaux et de tournage.
