Beautiful restaurant facing Galata tower. The wait was more than an hour, it is very busy in the evening due to its location. Once we were seated, we were treated with wonderful service, we ordered whiskey and black coffee for our drinks , For starters we got the hummus and yogurt dip which we ate along with the basket of complimentary bread that’s served with the meal at the begging. We got the grilled halloumi salad, it tasted beautiful , perfectly salty and savoury, with a touch of honey. For mains we got the village style chicken, it was very good , served with Patato gratin and roasted beet root. Beyti serma kebab was okay, nothing exciting, a bit low on flavour. The spinach pide was excellent, cheesy and warm goodness, paired wonderfully with Aimee xtra yogurt dip. We got the shrimp avocado starter, which was a while available stuffed with shrimp and olive oil, very filling and fatty but very yummy, good with the salad. The grilled fish had bones hence was a bit difficult for eat, and little bland , required some dips

It is an incredible place when you see it at first glance it looks like a commercial restaurant for tourists because it is in a very touristy area next to the Galata Tower, however do not let yourself be compensated with that, I invite you to sit down and eat there without any doubt is delicious and there is a very important point that is that. The food is authentic and typical Turkish but with a very good room, it is delicious, all the dishes are very well prepared and have a lot of flavour! Not to mention that you can go with your dog, they have an incredible attention and the prices are in an average neither very expensive nor very cheap I really invite you to go if you are in that area. I forgot to say that they also make the house deliberate and it's just as good as specifying what you want.

Sadly, one of my few negative reviews. The food was okay but nothing special. The restaurant is in a busy, touristy part of town. The service was subpar for two reasons: 1. We placed an order of hummus and received no pita/flatbread to eat with the hummus. Upon asking the waiter, he shrugged his shoulders and walked away. 2. The staff tried to place two waters on the table. We quickly told them we only ordered one. We later received the bill and it reflected two waters. The receipt was updated but the stated service charge/tax remained the same. Maybe this is poor maths by the staff or a deceptive trick. I pointed out the error to the staff but no action was taken to remedy the error and 10 TRL was not worth arguing for long. Furthermore, the tables are crowded together and the appetizers were brought out alongside the main course meals. My poor experience aside, I would still not recommend this restaurant. The view of the Galata Tower is nice, but that is about the only highlight.

Guney Restaurant is situated under the shadow of the ancient Galata Tower. The night we were there, the tower was bathed with the image of the Turkish flag. Spectacular. This restaurant is most likely very popular due to its location. The waiters though efficient, are simply doing their jobs. Customers come in and out. Mainly tourists. Tables are packed in. Our tiny round table could hardly hold our 3 dishes plus water glasses and plates. Yet… no consideration was done to send the salad first followed by the other two. Instead, all 3 arrived immediately. Server handed us the plates and it was up to us to balance and sort out how to fit everything on the table. The salad was drenched in dressing and consisted mainly of lettuce. The pasta was over cooked. But the pizza was good. Because we were sitting outside, we had to consume our dinner quickly as the pasta & pizza was getting cold. Would I return… very likely not!

Being a foodie I check the ratings before I go to a place, this is one of the place i went for good expectation for food even if the price of menu is more than other I have been to in Istanbul and that I can get due to stunning view of Galata from here. I ordered seafood here and it was amazing, 5 star for it. Problem is when they added 10% on top as service charge, for Americans it's not a big deal as it's normal there to tip, but what they did was adding an amount at the end without anything describing the charge, it's like you paid for nothing, must be something the restaurants don't want to say upfront or anywhere in the audits to save themselves . There are many other restaurants which serve the amazing food with no service charge and great service.

The Location is directly opposite to Galata Tower The atmosphere of the restaurant was great and cozy. The food was delicious and great. We ordered: - margarita pizza and we add some black olive (9 out of 10) - kabab kofta with onion salad and flat bread (6 out of 10, as the meet was a bit hard) - Grill chicken with chips (9 out of 10) It cost round $50 for three people with the soft drinks. And it was reasonable for the food and the location. The staff were helpful and change our place as we were next to smoking next table outdoor The restaurant is suitable for family/ couples/ kids and friends, but it might be difficult for disable to reach the place, as there are some steps and climbing up words and downwards the street.
