Fethiye Müzesi, İstanbul'da Fatih ilçesi'nin Çarşamba semtindedir. Doğu Roma Dönemi'nde yapılan Pammakaristos (pek çok mutlu) Manastırı'nın kilisesidir. İki binadan oluşan kilise, kentteki Latin egemenliğinin 1261'de son bulmasından sonra eski kilisenin kalıntıları üzerinde yeniden yaptırılmıştır. Kuzey kilisesi, Meryem'e adanmıştır. İmparator VIII. Mikhael Palailogos'un yeğeni Protostratos Mikhael Dukas Tarkhaniotes tarafından 1292-1294 yılları arasında yaptırılmıştır. Bir süre sonra 1315'te Mikhael Dukas'ın karısı Maria, kuzey kilisesinin sağ tarafına İsa'ya adanan küçük bir ek kilise (Parekklesion) yaptırmıştır. Mezar şapeli olan bu ek kilisede Maria ve Mikhael'in mezarları bulunmaktadır. Fetihten sonra Hristiyanların elinde kalan manastır ve kiliseye, 1455'te Havariun Kilisesi'nden çıkan Patrikhane taşınmış ve burası 1586 yılına kadar Patrikhane olarak kullanılmıştır. Sultan III. Murad Dönemi'nde (1574-1595) camiye dönüştürülen yapıya, o sırada yapılan Azerbaycan ve Gürcistan seferlerinin anısına Fethiye adı verilmiştir. Günümüzde kuzey kilise hâlen cami olarak kullanılmakta, ek kilise ise duvarları 14. yüzyılın en güzel mozaikleri ile süslü olup, 1938-1940 yıllarında onarıldıktan sonra müze olarak Ayasofya Müzesi'ne bağlı bir birim hâline getirilen müze, 2006 yılında ziyarete açılmıştır.

How to destroy a beautiful Byzantine church... I don't understand Erdogan, that wants to attract more tourists in Istanbul, but denies the Byzantine past of this city that so many tourists are looking for. Shame on him to destroy a historical masterpiece and transform it into a mosque, so he can get more votes from the extremist minority. I was lucky to visit this church before being closed, so below some pictures.

Magnificient structure that needs URGENT restoration especially from inside the building. PVC windows!, plasters on the walls are peeling off, super ugly looking electrical cables on the walls,... I hope they will renovate the museum and re-open it fir the public visitors and the mosque part is open as l wrote above internal part is a disaster. How can this be done to such a beautiful historical master piece!

Fethiye Camii veya Teotokos Pamakaristos Manastırı (Yunanca: Θεοτόκος ἡ Παμμακάριστος, "Hazreti Meryemana"), İstanbul'un Fatih ilçesi Çarşamba semtinde bulunan bir cami.Aslında kilise olarak, 13. yüzyıl sonlarında Bizans'ın ileri gelenlerinden Mihail Glabas Tarkaniotes tarafından inşa ettirilmiştir. İstanbul'un fethinden sonra 1454 yılında patrikhane olarak kullanılmıştır. 1601 yılında İran savaşlarında Gürcistan ve Azerbaycan'ın fethedilmesiyle, fethin hatırası olarak camiye dönüştürülmüştür. Fethiye Camii, camiye dönüştürülürken kilisenin apsis kısmı yıkılarak yerine kıble yönüne uygun bir mihrap yapılmış, bir minare ve medrese inşa ettirilmiştir. Cumhuriyet döneminde müzeye dönüştürülmüş, 1955 yılında Amerikan Bizans Enstitüsü tarafından içindeki mozaik ve freskler açığa çıkarılmış, sonradan yapılan kemer sökülüp yerine eski haline uygun sütunlar yapılmıştır. 1960'lı yıllarda yeniden cami olarak ibadete açılmıştır. Camii'nin duvarları taş ve tuğla karışımıdır. Dış duvarlarında ve içerideki mozaiklerde Grekçe yazılar göze çarpmaktadır.

Non posso che dare un punteggio neutro, bilanciando il fatto che sia chiusa con la sua importanza storica. Attualmente è tutto chiuso per importanti lavori di ristrutturazione in corso che coinvolgono tutto l'edificio. Peccato, perchè si tratta di una delle più preziose testimoniante bizantine ancora presenti ad Istanbul, la cui prima edificazione sembrerebbe risalire addirittura all'anno Mille. Nella seconda metà del Cinquecento la chiesa principale venne trasformata in moschea, ma una cappella che si trovava a fianco - il cosiddetto "parakklesion" - fu esclusa dai lavori e venne mantenuta più o meno così com'era con i mosaici superstiti. A metà del Novecento questa parte venne trasformata in museo e spero che gli attuali lavori di restauro non stravolgano questa situazione affichè i preziosissimi mosaici sopravvisuti possano continuare ad essere visitabili in un museo.

Being there for the mosaics, unfortunately there is a seemingly neverending construction site in this place. We could only enter the neighbouring former byzantine church, now a mosque devoided of all the ancient decorations. The area is rather conservative and shady, but with decent prices.
