Let me get the bad or and then state why I loved it; waters expensive and the toilets are unsatisfactory.

With that minor quibble out of the way, the actual ATV rides were really fun (even if they were throttled) with a given area to ride in as the actual larger fingers wouldn't made first timers subject to injury; the people were nice and the place seemed pretty once considering how far the place is from Dubai.

The desert safari (we went through Sun and Sky and the price for our family of four was just over 600dhms) was pretty good; the three others in the car alongside me were pretty thrilled and going up and down dunes for us city people didn't get old, even if we were hearing our 22nd one. The guide was really friendly and spoke fluent English, which was a major plus.

Overall, i would recommend the tour; just ensure you go through a good agency (there are quite a handful of safari agencies that operate here) and carry a bit of water and perhaps a chocolate bar for the 1-1.5 hour drive...

When my sister's family was visiting us in Dubai recently, they wanted to go for the famous Desert Safari. I searched online and found this operator. Ahmad Tufail was our driver & tour guide.

Ahmad reached our home on time to pick us up. On our way to Sharjah for the safari he explained the history of the UAE in a fantastic storytelling ability. We enjoyed the sand bikes initially. Then we set off for our sand dunes. It was a fabulous experience overall.

The highlight was the sand-boarding experience. All of us enjoyed it thoroughly. We took dozens of pictures as the sun was setting. We took some pictures with a falcon too.

The evening was rounded up with a great buffet dinner and entertainment at the camp. It was a trip to cherish for a lifetime. I highly recommend Ahmad as your driver and tour guide for your desert...
