Dolphin Experience at Atlantis Aquapark – Is It Worth It?
The dolphin experience at Atlantis Aquapark seems appealing at first, but in reality, it is quite disappointing, especially considering the price of €220 per person. This price includes a full day at the aquapark, which has excellent slides and a pleasant environment, making it a great option if you plan to spend the whole day there.
However, the dolphin encounter itself has significantly declined in quality. About ten years ago, the groups were smaller, and the interaction with the dolphin was much more personal—you could play with the dolphin, receive a kiss, and have a truly engaging experience. Today, the experience has been reduced to standing next to the dolphin as a group, holding it briefly, and then taking turns posing for a photo. This is far from what you would expect for such a high price.
Photos are another major expense. The starting price for a single digital photo is €40, and the quality of printed photos is quite poor. The initial offer for the full photo package is €320, but if you refuse, they will lower the price. Eventually, we paid €170 for 4 digital photos, and another option was offered—one printed photo plus all digital ones for €240. In the end, we agreed to pay €240. The whole process feels like a sales negotiation, as if they are chasing a sales target rather than ensuring customer satisfaction.
Food inside the complex is also expensive, with meal prices starting at €20. However, I must say the pizza was delicious and cost around €20.
Additional costs include transportation—if you take the metro, a ticket costs €5 per person, while a taxi from Dubai Marina to Atlantis Hotel is around €20.
Conclusion? If you're visiting just for the aquapark, it’s worth spending the entire day there. However, if you're coming for the dolphin experience, don’t expect much—for the price you pay, the interaction is minimal, and the photos are overpriced.
I would like to thank Trainer Simiso / Bravilo for their kindness and professionalism—much appreciation and...
Read moreThis is just for people to have a clear description of the (poor) service provided to be able to choose accordingly. There are 2 things that you should consider before buying their most expensive service (dolphin swim - described on their site ar being 'a chance to swim and interact with dolphins'): this is not swim with dolphins but swim around a dolphin. You will be in a group of 8-10 people (so is not an experience dedicated to you as you might expect after reading the site description but to a group from which you will be part of) and a dolphin will swim from time to time around you. You will not swim with the dolphin, you will swim close to one. In terms of effective interaction youl will have the chance just to look at it, to touch it 2 or 3 times when it will come for the pictures. Because you will be in a group and because of how the program is built you will have in the 20 minutes duration the chance to touch it 2 or max 3 times. The rest of the time you will hear explanations and watch the dolphin doing some poor tricks. Not exactly what I was expecting when choosong this service. My recomandation, in case you really want to go is to choose dolphin meet & greet which is cheaper and in terms of satisfaction you have pretty much the same feeling but a lower price. At least you will not be suprised (frustrated) at the end thinking that this was not quite what you expected when booking this. Quite a poor experience in my view... Also, in care you want to have a member of your family to enter as observer and be able to take pictures of you or film you, before deciding to pay the extra fee you should know that the observer will be only allowed to take pictures from the shore which is quite far from the place where you and the dolphin will be. You will not be allowed to get closer to take better pictures allthough there are options to come closer. See the attached picture (bear in mind that is made with zoom on) before deciding if worth to pay the extra fee for...
Read moreWe travelled to dubai on our honeymoon and decided to go to Atlantis theme park. We paid 300 aed each. We had a great time in the theme park until we got to dolphin bay. We informed the staff we were on our honeymoon and they didn't seem to care much. Fair enough I wasn't expecting anything. We paid an additional 700 Dirhams to have some time with the dolphins which was great. We then went to the photo section where we was met with the rudest person I have ever come across. His name was LORETO TAN. As we was standing there looking at our pictures I decided to take one on my phone. My mistake I shouldn't have although instead of telling me politely the staff member decided to throw his hands in my face and stop me from taking the pictures. I told him not to and he then became very sarcastic and rude with me. He then proceeded to speak a different language with another member of staff and told them to watch me. I paid an additional 400 Dirhams which was 82 pound for 3 pictures. He then let another person deal with me his name was Jake who was again not as rude but was quite condescending and didn't pay any attention to us. I then asked the other member for the manager and at first they said he was the manager and then told me to go inside and complain when he knew there was no complaints desk inside. For the rest of the duration he made myself and my wife extremely uncomfortable by staring at us and smiling in an extremely sarcastic manner. I then asked to speak to the manager who was extremely nice although she seemed like she was covering up his behaviour. I will never be attending this theme park and will never ever recommend the dolphin experience again. Loretos manager gave us a few digital photos for free to say sorry although we still haven't received them. Overall after spending near to 500 pounds it was a very poor experience and not the dubai standard that we'd...
