Seacoast Safaris - Puffin Island Boat Trips — Attraction in Anglesey

We booked our trip to Puffin Island online as advised to avoid disappointment. 2 Adult and 2 Children which in total was just shy of 65 pounds. We were travelling from Barmouth which is 1hr 24mins drive and experienced car trouble. I phoned and spoke to a Lady to let them know we were going to be 6 minutes late. Signal was poor and I kept losing connection but she got the msg. On arrival at Beaumaris we ran to the trip stall but we had missed the trip by 7 minutes. My granddaughter who is 8 was so upset, I asked the Lady if they could transfer the cost of the trip to the next day to which she bluntly responded "no" and nothing more. She was rude and blunt even though we had spoken on the phone. I had to just respond OK and walk away due to how she spoke to me in front of my grandchildren. My daughter in law went back to speak to her later to ask if there was anything she could do but was told if we had phoned then maybe, she explained we did ring several times however she still would not assist us. The Lady also said that someone could have booked the seats therefore the Company would lose money if she transferred the cost to the next day just to check it was full and it was half empty. We went with this company for a cruise round puffin Island on the 21st of September 2022. I must say it’s an absolutely fantastic trip and the crew should be extremely proud of themselves. I am registered blind and therefore didn’t think I would get much out of it, but that I would go for the enjoyment of the journey. How wrong was I the information we were given was amazing and very very informative Crew should be absolutely proud of themselves for the service they give to people that go on their trips. The boat is accessible for people who can walk. However, wheelchairs will not be able to get on board the boats as there is three steps off the boat onto the pier itself. The boat we went on was the Neptune explorer, this is a very, very big boat and very sturdy. Indeed, we were very surprised at how comfortable the journey was, despite the sea being quite choppy. After a delayed start due to rain this was a wonderful trip. A combination of social distancing and reduced numbers because of the weather meant there was loads of room on the boat. Zone 1 seating placed us perfectly at the stern which made the outward journey even more spectacular. Even Archie (the yellow lab) was enthralled by the massive wake. High tide meant we were able to get close to Puffin Island and the lighthouse for spectacular views of the bird colonies including, of course, the puffins.
