Went to see Gary Numan which was amazing. I found the actual venue not a very helpful place. I hadn't realised it's standing only I am disabled with arthritis and fybromyalgia I cannot stand to long having one partial foot after amputation and a deformed lower spine and hip. The best they could offer me on the phone was finding a bit of railing to lean on, so I had to miss the support artist so I wasn't standing to long. I found a spot with my brother and sister at the top of some stairs like a little landing out of the way so I could sit on a stair if I needed to, but we were moved on by an unsympathetic member of staff who was agressive saying railings are for VIP pass people only😡. Getting in and out of the venue is a bit like a cattle market with only one exit open so everyone pushes all directions trying to get out. On a plus the security staff did an amazing job as did the bar staff. Great atmosphere, clean venue with Aircon. I just wish they were more helpful for walking disabled people, my evening was spoilt by the pain I was in. They have one tiny area for 2 wheelchairs out of a 2k capacity, nothing for anyone not in a chair. Gary Numan and his band were awesome. Defo a great place to go but plan ahead if you struggle standing you are stuffed.

Went to Breakin Science DnB event there which was Excellent. Definitely one of the better and bigger O2 accademy venues in the country that we have seen. Good layout mostly with great balconies overlooking main arena and aircondioned well at the top.2 small arenas which wernt owt special. Sound and lighting at this event was Brilliant. Very long que to get in due to tight but good professional security searching for Weapons drugs etc but not to intrusive. We had VIP so skipped most of que. Security present everywhere making it safe but relaxed. Bar was good got served quickly. Unfortunately on these So called 'Club nites' 02 customers which are supposed to get Perks such as free clock room and cheap drinks dont get anything despite Posters signs and staff shirts saying we do? This is same at all 02 venues weve been too, as a faithful customer this annoying When they make a big deal of it in emails advets etc then wont do it just because it's a hard dance or dnb event. Shame. Overall tho very good had a great nite.

Went to see Orbit Culture, Bleed From Within and Trivium at O2 Academy Bristol and whilst the acts themselves were phenomenal, the venue itself left a lot to be desired. Doors opened at 7pm with Orbit Culture due onstage at 7:30, however, the organisation was woeful and contributed to only seeing Orbit Culture's last 3 songs. As the crowd grew in anticipation for Trivium the temperature ramped up and by the time they were in full flow, the official temperature was 40°c (104°f)! I think it's the only venue on the tour cycle with no air conditioning whatsoever. I would seriously be wary of booking this venue again if the temp. outside is more than 20°. Dangerous for the crowd and the band. Even Matt Heafy (lead singer of Trivium) said it was dangerous and had the tour crew bringing bottles of water from the tour bus to feed to the put. Like I said, the show was excellent, but just be wary of outside temps before booking this venue.

Been to this venue many times before to see many great artists. Most of them I have been to have not been sell out shows, until I went to one a couple of nights ago.

The band were amazing and the sound I thought was probably the best iv heard in this venue ...

However, they state the capacity is 1600. I really believe that a sold out show with 1600 people is dangerous in this space.

This venue has so many stairs, and the stairs that lead upstairs were always cleared by security which was great to see.

However the stairs leading down to the main floor were jammed packed, and as I shuffled through the people that would allow me past, I got to the edge of the stairs and slipped, not seeing them with the amount of people.

I decided to give up and go around through the bar, which again was so difficult because it was so jammed packed that I could not get through without forcing myself through.

If you are down on the main floor and needed to get out, it's pretty difficult and could easily take 10 minutes. I would also avoid going to the bar due to the crazy prices.

I assume they hike the prices because they know how hard it is for people to get to the bar, and how often they can get a sale.

This I'd a club in my opinion, and not a venue. If this was at capacity with clubbers there'd probably be more room than this place full of old overweight rockers. Which means they should lower the capacity for nights like this ...

Personally I feel they oversold for this particular show, and on less busy nights this venue is great. However, they need someone controlling the flow of people around the bar and...

I've been to the o2 Academy Bristol numerous times before, however last night I took my youngest son, who's six years old, to the Battle Beast show, and wanted to share a review.

Everyone who worked at the academy was absolutely brilliant and helped us have the best time, and I'm so grateful to everyone we interacted with.

Prior to the gig I messaged the box office checking if a six year old was allowed in the venue, and Robyn and Eloise were both wonderful, not only saying that he was welcome but also offered some advice as to where to stand and said that we could enter in the priority queue to beat the rush.

The door staff were great, not only with scanning tickets, checking bags, and everything else they need to do, but were really warm to my son and built up the hype and excitment for him. He was pretty hyped anyway I should say, but it certainly helped!

The bar staff were great as well when we got a round of j2o's in. We left about half way through the main band's set, it was way past his bed time after all, and as we were in the main foyer Maggs from security just came over to check we were OK. We were fine, just tired, but I really appreciated the gesture.

I'd also like to finish by saying that the crowd and tour crew were super nice and friendly as well, which is no doubt helped by the venue and it's staff being fantastic.

Thank...
