Unfortunately we were made to feel very unwelcome. We had our puppy with us who barked a few times and we were threatened with “if you can’t control your dog you’ll have to leave”! It’s supposed to be a dog friendly pub. If I could leave no stars I would. Woman was very rude and and not at all accommodating and needs to have a lesson on how to speak to her customers politely, not leaving them feeling shocked and not worthy. Our money is as good as any other paying customers. We had been in the pub approximately 10 minutes. Due to this disgusting attitude we were forced to leave the pub leaving behind a round of drinks that my husband had just paid for which wasn’t cheap!! Do not visit this pub if you have a dog!!! We definitely won’t be back and I seriously do not...

My friend and I walked in at 9:45 on a Saturday hoping to get a drink and see some live music. As we entered the person on the microphone called out "the stripers are here" . We felt immediately uncomfortable and so decided to approach the bar staff with our concerns. We overheard them saying we had taken offence. We were then told that if we had a problem we would have to approach the musician directly to tell him we were uncomfortable and they did not seem to have much sympathy. As two women in their early 20s we found this highly disparaging and decided to leave. I do not think I will be visiting this bar again, especially as there are much nicer bars in the area with far less sexist and more...

Excellent traditional small pub, nice decor inside. The hearty meals were excellent, the lasagne was definitely homemade/cooked, looked great and tasted just as good, nice chunks of mince in there. The fish and chips were excellent - my other half had that - but I tried a sample from her plate. The ale tasted really good, but seemed well kept (the Dartmoor Jail Ale). And the apple and pear crumble was of suitably high quality, as was the service. I'd didn't feel it was overpriced. And when you're enjoying what you're eating, paying a little more is always worth a little extra cost provided it isn't exorbitant, which this was wasn't. Highly...

A really neat and small old pub. It has a fire in the bar area, which is much needed in winter. The other area of the pub is split into 2 sections with these areas being colder in the winter months. A choice of Ales. Dartmoor and Sea Spray in January 2022. Tom is a great Character behind the bar. Not so sure about his jokes but they will make you laugh. The food is plentiful and good value. Well worth a visit when you come to Brixham.

Ce here for the first time yesterday and was blown away by how delicious the homemade Stilton tagliatelle was we returned for dinner again tonight. Home made steak and Ale pie was gorgeous and the kids had basket meals. The fish goujons were really fresh and massive! (Pic is after eating 3) Would recommend and will certainly come back next time we are in town

Sunday Roast was super delicious here. We had tried to get a table in previous visits but no luck. Today we were welcomed in and service was great. Will definitely be back for other dishes. Real pub foods. Dog friendly but “badly behaved children are sold to pirates! (love that on the wall). 😊
