If you want venust views over the city and a slightly different terrain to traipse then Blackford Hill is well worth a shout. Within minutes drive of the city centre it gives access to an elevated vista over Arthur’s Seat and the city. Nice big car park and lots of green space for dogs and kids to entertain it has a secluded feel despite its proximity to habitation. NB: no toilets or cafe

It’s hard to believe this place is so close to the city center! With a picturesque pond and serene atmosphere, it’s the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of the urban landscape. Whether you’re a nature lover or just looking for a peaceful spot to relax, this place is definitely worth a visit. Don’t miss out on this hidden gem!

Great for short or long walks. You can park at the royal observatory if you want a short walk but you can also do a loop. The alltrails site has good details of the loop which is about 3.3 miles and provides some amazing views of Edinburgh and the surrounding area. One of the best walks in Edinburgh.

Lovely walk destination especially when the days are so pretty and the weather mild and nice to us humans. I would recommend to go there in the evening, as you can see all the Edinburgh lights and that’s honestly truly beautiful. Meet the rabbits and say hello to them if you decide to go.

Fantastic hike with an even more beautiful views along the way. The view from the top is breathtaking! There are different trails but most are from easy to moderate level. I 100% recommend taking a hike when in Edinburgh because the sights of the city from above is spectacular.

I hiked this wee hill on 6th June 2020. It was a pre-celebration of my birthday on 7th June 2020. The experience is exhilarating and the weather was godsend. We don't say that often in Edinburgh lol. Take a book with you and take some silly photos for remembrance 🥰
