What a great place this is for a walk.
If you can manage to climb the 122 steps or take the long path up it is well worth the effort. The views over Edinburgh , Fife and East Lothian are amazing on a clear day.
Naming the Edinburgh landmarks is something most people do as they try and get their bearings whilst looking over the city and further afield.
We never tire of the views or the great abundance of trees and birds that thrive here. The crows, well these are my pals who follow me up the hill in the hope of a wee snack which I place on the trig point! Very intelligent birds who will remember you if you are kind.

It is very expansive, making it excellent for long and mildly taxing walks, including those with dogs. It is clean, as well-maintained as a huge grassy area can be, with a single swing hanging from a tree quite far up the hill and several entry and exit points leading to different parks in the nearby housing.
