What a great place this is for a walk. If you can manage to climb the 122 steps or take the long path up it is well worth the effort. The views over Edinburgh , Fife and East Lothian are amazing on a clear day. Naming the Edinburgh landmarks is something most people do as they try and get their bearings whilst looking over the city and further afield. We never tire of the views or the great abundance of trees and birds that thrive here. The crows, well these are my pals who follow me up the hill in the hope of a wee snack which I place on the trig point! Very intelligent birds who will remember you if you are kind. Would highly recommend you visit this park if you haven’t done so already.

If you want venust views over the city and a slightly different terrain to traipse then Blackford Hill is well worth a shout. Within minutes drive of the city centre it gives access to an elevated vista over Arthur’s Seat and the city. Nice big car park and lots of green space for dogs and kids to entertain it has a secluded feel despite its proximity to habitation. NB: no toilets or cafe

It’s hard to believe this place is so close to the city center! With a picturesque pond and serene atmosphere, it’s the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of the urban landscape. Whether you’re a nature lover or just looking for a peaceful spot to relax, this place is definitely worth a visit. Don’t miss out on this hidden gem!

A small hike my friend took me on, it didn't look like much when we started but the higher you get, the better it gets.

Once we reached the top, we were treated to a GORGEOUS view of Arthur's Seat. I almost cried because of how beautiful it was.

We then laid in the grass and I am not exaggerating when I say it is the best grass i have EVER laid on. The grass was so soft and warm. I still remember it so well, it saddens me to think I might never feel grass that soft and warm again. All other grass now pales in...

I went for a walk with my granddaughter, who lives in the Blackford area. We have used the hill many times. It is very expansive, making it excellent for long and mildly taxing walks, including those with dogs. It is clean, as well-maintained as a huge grassy area can be, with a single swing hanging from a tree quite far up the hill and several entry and exit points leading to different parks in the nearby housing. It's great for a stroll, and we will go again,...
