Merry Hill center is one of the largest out of town places in the West Midlands area. The center contains some of the biggest names in retail. It has big stores in every area of retail and has its own massive place where you can eat. This place is eat central which caters for every taste from fish and chips, burgers, Chinese, Subway, Greek and to deserts. The centre has plenty of choice on its two levels. In clothing there is a big Next, River island Tk Maxx. Plus there are big shops like Asda, Debenhams, Boots and two Marks And Spencer's stores. The parking is free and there is also a big bus station. Every town us connected in the West Midlands and Birmingham is linked to merry hill. Overall it is difficult to answer how good it is until you go their yourself. Take plenty of time to take how massive this place is. Since the unfortunate collapse of Intu at the start of the pandemic. A new Merry Hill Center has risen from the ashes. New livery and new stores to replace the unfortunate closures of Debenhams BHS and other big stores. Lidl has finally come to the center so has B&M, Iceland and Henleys. Stores in merry hill has expanded like The Range and Primark. New eating places has also opened throughout the center. Merry hill has gone through a tough time recently but it is still...
Read moreIntu shopping centers are fantastic places to shop complete with all types of places to shop for all occasions, my own negative feedback on them is that there aren't enough! To my knowledge there is less than 10 around the country in total. Overall I have visited three different intu's now and each time I have I spent money in a variety of places.
Finally one of the best places to eat literally ever in my opinion in the Harper's restaurant which can only be found in certain intu's across the country (Derby and Merry Hill definitely have one). The food is completely incredible I personally have never tasted a peppered steak or lamb & mint pie quite like it. Affordable and delicious food makes it one of the main reasons to visit in my opinion.
The first photo I have uploaded is that of a peppered steak pie meal I bought and combined with a fresh orange Smooth drink, guess how much it came to... Go on guess and don't read ahead!!!! Okay so the pie was £5 and the drink was 99p the rest was free and there was much more for free that I...
Read moreI visit rarely but always have a pleasant experience here
Theres a good variety of shops and the odd one or two not on the average high street. (Especially these days) its a multi story shopping centre with typical big retail brands.
It never seems too busy when I go which i like. (Visited on a Wednesday)
The layout feels a tad strange, I often wonder if I missed areas, even though theres floor plan signs.
There's a great food corner with lots of variety and spaces to sit and eat. I noticed, kfc, burger king, pizza, full roast dinner, noodles, burritos and more.
Lots of paid parking and local transport.
Not many natural walking areas in the near vicinity but there are canals (I didn't explore these).
It's about a 30-minute walk from the main hospital.
Nothing particularly special about being here.
Toilet facilities were clean as were the shopping halls.
I spent around 3 hours here including dining.
Shop staff were polite. Felt safe with mall security present.
Would revisit if in the area but no special plans to...
