Five Guys Burgers and Fries Dudley (Merry Hill) — Restaurant in Dudley

This was my first ever time at fiveguys and I must say I was not disappointed! I walked in and the restaurant was spotless, looked freshly refurbished which helped with the atmosphere alot!

I walked up to the counter to order food and was greeted by connor, one of the servers, I explained that it was my first time and he could not help me enough, I told him I wanted a small burger and regular fries and drink, he asked if I was hungry and that I was so I did have the regular fries but I was warned they are large!

Connor then helped me with the burger building process, an idea I have never seen in any other restaurants, I was impressed, he knew all ingredients off by heart (he did give me the sheet for the ingredients).

I then grabbed my cup and walked to the drinks machine and was astonished at the choice of drinks I had, I chose dr pepper vanilla and cherry!

I then waited a short while for food and when I got the food and sat down in the booth I was amazed at the portion size of the chips!

When I tried the chips I was impressed, the ratio of salt to chips was perfect along with the fact that the chips had the potato skin still on! That is the best way to have chips! Then I got onto the burger and my goodness the burger was amazing, it tasted like how everyone had said! It was gorgeous!

Brunette male server working until 7pm (apparently) on Saturday 22nd March 2024 was stupendously rude towards anyone walking in the door from 7pm onwards. Five guys clearly close at 7 as we now know- but this is neither on their shop front displayed anywhere or online- which currently says open until 9. Shouted across the whole restaurant aggressively in front of all the customers dining in “we’re closed mate”. We literally swivelled on the spot and walked off because he was so rude in his tone- he sounded like he wanted to spit on us. As we were leaving a mother with a small child came to the front- “we’re closed” was his classic response. She replied saying that she had seen the website had said they are open til 9pm, and he shouted (again in front of all the diners and staff) calling across the room to the doorway- “well the websites wrong then, isn’t it?”. I don’t care what your job is, how many times you’re asked or if you think you’re paid enough. You earn a wage in exchange for some level of customer service- your employers should be disgusted that this is how their staff treat customers wanting to purchase from them. This guy needs sacking. Ordered Cheese Dog and Milkshake, £10.50? I was HUGE fan of five guys, Use to be a right good treat once a month. But since I have changed my diet to cut down on Salt and Sugar, I cant believe how Salty Five Guys is. Because I now have less salt, its easy to taste when there is too much and my gosh was I in for a shock when I bit into my hot dog. All I could taste was salt. I'm sorry this review has fell on this branch but it was the one where I ate last, as the Staff are amazing here, by far the best FG staff I have dealt with, if not the best staff from any store ever. Friendly, Fun and have always been very generous.

I use to see value in their food, As i enjoyed it, but the salt! I cant believe I never noticed it before. Handing over a £20 note for a hot dog and milkshake and receiving a fiver back with change just seemed really poor value. If I enjoyed it, it would of been a different story as I dont mind paying for good food. Thumbs...
