Peasholm Park in Scarborough is an absolute gem, especially on a sunny day! 🌞
The park is beautifully maintained and offers a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life. The lush greenery, vibrant flowers, and the tranquil lake create a picturesque setting that’s perfect for a leisurely stroll or a relaxing picnic.
There’s plenty to do for visitors of all ages. The dragon boat rides on the lake are a must-try and reasonably priced. You can also enjoy mini-golf, although some might find it less exciting compared to other activities. The park often hosts live bands and a small naval warfare show, adding to the lively atmosphere1.
The park is teeming with wildlife. Squirrels are particularly friendly and can be fed by hand, which is a delightful experience for kids and adults alike. There are also plenty of ducks and other birds to observe.

Large oriental inspired park situated in the North Bay area of Scarborough. Easy to find, in fact you can't really miss it.
Relatively flat so perfect for a gentle walk, pushchairs and mobility scooters with the exception of the island which is really quite steep, pushchairs and children would be fine but mobility scooters would struggle.
The lake has dragon inspired pedalos alongside traditional rowing boats for hire, there are various pools and water courses flowing through the parkland with an abundance of birds and ducks alongside some very tame squirrels.
There's public toilets and a large cafe/restaurant with lots of outside seating; however, there's also lots of picnic tables throughout.
Generally the place is in good condition and appears to be well maintained.

It is stunningly beautiful on a sunny day.
I also love that there are additional extras at reasonable prices like the boating lake, putting green, etc but you can wander around for free and follow the tree trails and even use the "Love Exploring" app to do the AR trails for dinosaurs or fairies.
Slightly frustrating that big parts aren't available when the Naval Warfare is on but understandable at the same time.
The park is generally kept quite clean and is very accessible.
Would be good if dog owners would abide by the rules and keep dogs on leads and ideally someone could enforce it but "what can you do"?
All round: great place for a cheap trip out. Top tip: buy some monkey nuts and\or bird seed, wander round towards the back end and there's plenty of squirrels, birds and even water...
