Peasholm grillhouse — Restaurant in England

What can I say but you have to be brave to serve food that bad from an open kitchen.

We looked at the menu online but the pictures were from two years ago, we should have left after sitting down and being given the menu and seeing that it ws indeed the same two year old menu.

My wife and I had the steak pie which was accompanied by some actually really lovely and fluffy chips but thats where the enjoyment ended. The pie even though it was huge was clearly microwaved to within an inch of its life, the pastry was chewy and grey, and the filling was hotter than the surface of the sun, it had definitely never seen an oven. To add to this disaster of a pie, whether is was to disguise how terrible it was or just an ill judged plating descion it was smothered in gravy, a lovely gravy to be fair, but I would have preferred it served separately to add myself.

My eldest daughter had chicken strips with contained some very dubious looking grey chicken and served with a side salad akin to something you would get in a dodgy Indian takeaway.

My youngest daughter had spaghetti bolognaise with was watery and tasteless and dusted in dried oregano and was accompanied by a pitta bread.

The atmosphere was awful there was no back ground music for ambiance and the lighting was like someone forgot to pay the bill, I felt like we had caught them on the hop and they had just opened and wasn't expecting anyone to come in.

Service was OK......but just OK not enough to save a terrible meal and atmosphere.

I'd recommend the chippy next door they were pouring out of...

I dont usually post reviews, however after eating here tonight I feel I must. Our order consisted of bacon burger and chips, side order onion rings and a so called bolognese. Portion size okay. My bolognaise was swimming in water. I asked if this could be addressed, waitress clearly only drained of excess water and brought it back. It was seriously the most tasteless bolognaise I have had. All the flavouring clearly been drained away. The burger was like eating soft tasteless garbage. The onion rings were nice. Food was served on cold plates so food went cold quickly. The nann bread was hard and cold , dunking it in the none existent sauce did nothing. All this for £32 was disappointing. When I told the waitress she quickly removed my card and said to pay nothing. Saw this while driving past and decided to turn round and have a look very happy we did, we asked for a table and told sit anywhere as it was quite, we ordered the food both having garlic mushrooms spot on plenty cream and garlic my wife had a steak and I had batterd chicken stips both came with chips mine had salad and coldslaw the other had onion rings and grilled tomatoes,I had apint of john Smith smooth and my wife had a coke. The staff are great, music was on in the background and enjoyable, all in all a very nice experience will be going again at some point, this visit was on our wedding anniversary, thank you to all that work there very happy we found...
