Peasholm Cafe — Restaurant in England

Rubbish kitchen organisation. Having waited over half an hour for our order to arrive and observed customers arrive after us but get food delivered, I went to query how long the wait might be and explained that we had an event booked which was starting very soon. Sounded like that hadn't got to grips with putting orders into any kind of queueing system as I was told our order was now being sorted. Weak apology saying that they were very busy. Order eventually arrived, although my lunch seemed to be a small pot of coleslaw ... Mentioned that I'd actually ordered a jacket potato to accompany my coleslaw and server said they'd let the kitchen know. By this time we were running late for our booked activity. After a few more minutes with no update I asked again and they said it was on its way. Tasted like a microwaved potato (even though it looked like they'd got a jacket potato machine - definately not worth the wait. Had to wolf it down and practically run to our booked activity. This was about an hour after we'd actually ordered (at which point they hadn't looked very busy at all).

Barely an apology at any point in the process, just the explanation that they were really busy. Not the type of place you'd expect to wait an hour good food!

In summary, if you aren't in a rush, don't mind rubbish food and mediocre customer...

Avoid this cafe as the staff do not know what they are doing. Ordered a panini and it was given to the table next to us. That same table had their correct order delivered to them and the staff were told of the extra panini they had been given. This was after five minutes and the staff asked if it ours (feeling the panini to see how cold it had become) as though they were just going to hand it to us, never mind the sneezing, coughing, spluttering and handling over and of the panini ! ! When the staff were told that we didn't want that one now, they said they would make fresh ? I have my doubts and feel quite sick at the thought of it. Whilst we were there we were approached by staff again on three separate occasions trying to give us other meals that weren't ours ! ! Do yourselves a favour and do not eat there. AND they do not clear the tables away so other customers who wanted a table had to move half empty abandoned meals to other tables and therefore allowed seagulls a free-for-all to scavenge...

Hot food stops at 3pm and then cafe closes at 4pm, even in school summer holidays! Ordered a latte, £3.50 and hadn't realised it came out of pretty much a vending machine. Disgusting....if it's not proper coffee, don't charge proper price. I wouldn't have paid £2 for it to be honest...I work in a coffeeshop and have washed up in water that's probably tasted better. Place was clean and tidy when we went and service quick. Didn't bother using the toilets in the park, because past experience has left me with minor trauma. Husband did say the men's toilets had undergone a refurb, but still highly stank of urine because not being frequently flushed and minimal...
