A visit to any destination with an aquarium is hugely enjoyable for our family, and I’m so happy to tell you that we all found this Sea Life in Blackpool to be no exception. We have learned over the years that timing your visit to attractions can be key; this is so true here. Space is finite - it's not a huge aquarium, but it's well worth a visit. Let me tell you why! ✨ The aquarium is right on the promenade in the centre of town and easy to find. ✨ There is plenty of paid parking nearby if you're travelling by car. ✨ We pre-booked our tickets as a multi-attraction package, saving us money and ensuring entry on our chosen day. ✨ All things considered, the entry prices are very reasonable and worth every penny. ✨ We visited on a weekday afternoon (during the English school term) and had plenty of time and space to enjoy the exhibits. ✨ The centre was exceptionally clean, as were the tanks and the animals/fish etc all looked well taken care of. ✨ The animals/fish/sharks etc. were all very active during our visit, which was fabulous to see. ✨There was an abundance of staff; all of whom we found to be exceptionally friendly, knowledgeable, and approachable. ✨ There were scheduled talks held by the teams, and we all appreciated “Charlie” teaching us some amazing new facts about sharks. ✨ We happened to visit on the Centre’s Sea Turtles' 25th birthday, and we were privileged to see her more than once - a rare treat. ✨ There was a fantastic mixture of creatures to view, including some of the more unusual; an adult Axolotl being one of my favourites! ✨ This was a lovely, family-friendly place to spend a rainy afternoon. We were able to spend plenty of time at our favourite exhibits - especially cool for anyone who like me, enjoys photography. 🤩♿The aquarium has a few different viewing areas, but most of the exhibits are accessible, as is the entrance. 🤩♿ As a disabled person who requires a PA (personal assistant/carer), I had no issue requesting a free PA ticket when purchasing my adult admission. This has earned a spot in my best attractions to visit whilst in Blackpool. 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩 😉 My top tip: If you're visiting a few of the attractions included in the “multibuy” packages, don't let having to pre-book slots put you off - the dates/times can be altered later.

The family and I visited SEA LIFE Blackpool during the 2023 October half-term. This was our second visit and the first for a few years. . I had fairly low expectations of the experience having previously found it fairly underwhelming. However, I was really impressed with the changes and improvements made to the venue. . We pre-booked tickets as part of the Merlin Blackpool big ticket offer. Purchasing the tickets via this offer makes the cost of entry much lower and I'd strongly recommend exploring this if you're planning on visiting other Merlin attractions whilst in Blackpool. . The venue takes you on a journey through different water creatures and you can really get up close to the tanks and even touch some of the sea creatures as they pass you by. . The highlight for me was definitely the walk through tank where you can get 180 degree views of sharks and turtles amongst others. . The experience ends with a talk all about the sea life and its history in the area and beyond. My kids found this really engaging and Gill was an excellent and knowledgeable host. . We didn't purchase the mandatory Merlin photo as it was pretty poor. I must be honest, I do think the photo shoot on entry has really had its day in the era of smart phones. I guess people still buy them but I think a more creative idea should be adopted. . In summary, SEA LIFE Blackpool is an underwater adventure that shouldn't be missed when visiting Lancashire's historic seaside town.

The Sea life Blackpool is a lovely place to visit if you want a calming time away from the outside life. Me and my partner went a few months ago and they have a beautiful selection of lovely sea creatures and fishes to see and view whilst you're there. I'll be honest there wasn't much information on each section in the Sea life centre itself, about the fishy creatures, and the man was commentating the same information over and over again really did get on our nerves, you'll find that man near the rock pool. Also he is very loud so me and my partner didn't hang around that area for long, because he was annoying, so we walked further into the Sea life centre to see the other beautiful sea creatures. Was busy when we was there loads of families, and I mean it was packed, as they all stand near the glass where the creatures were, so to avoid disappointment I would go when it's less busy so you can enjoy the surroundings and have a fantastic time. Me and my partner enjoyed our visit but it's just the same run down building not much to it really, maybe add some different creatures or change the theme up so its more interesting to see apart from that it was an overall fun amazing experience. I liked how I could take pretty photos of the beautiful ocean creatures, and me and my partner got loads of amazing photos. A calming relaxing place to come too if you have children as the music is soothing and once you're there you don't want to leave as the sea creatures really do bring off this calming atmosphere which you can really enjoy and chill with

Let's face it: Blackpool doesn't exactly have a lot offer in terms of entertainment for adults, unless you're into cheap, low-level gambling facilities. SEA LIFE certainly offers entertainment of some sort, but not for adults. The facilities of this indoor aquarium are clearly catering to 4 year-olds, which is fine - as there were A LOT of them about during my visit. However, I've visited other "ocean life attractions" before (e.g. in London, Hull, and on Malta), and they all at least offer some more sophisticated information, or food-for-thought if you will. This one doesn't. So one is basically left to just looking at high-maintenance animated paintings (aka: aquariums), and listening to enthusiastic guides talking to 4-year-olds. The "objects" on display also leave something to be desired, as small sharks and a few larger turtles were the most "spectacular" specimen. Most of the rest were fairly ordinary. Adult ticket price is a little over 20 UKP on the day (It's slightly cheaper online), which is rather too much considering what's being shown. But then, only a minority of visitors will have to pay those 20+ quid. Instantly forgettable, all I could think of was how some of these fishes would be nicer in beer batter. ;)

Had a great time with my family here. My daughter who is only 8 months old was really excited watching the fishes, listening to the ambient sounds and looking at the various lighting on show. It's a very interactive and informative experience, the staff there were very knowledgeable and always on hand to answer any questions we had. We even had a couple of staff randomly come chat to us and take us on a one-to-one tour providing us with such interesting and useful information and knowledge. Due to visiting during the out of season period, there was not many visitors about which gave us plenty of time to explore. The attraction could have been larger but for the price we paid you cannot grumble (received a Blue Light Card discount). Thanks to all of the staff who contributed to our pleasant experience here. Keep up the great work guys!
